I spent 5 nights there in an A.C double beds room for only 12$ per nights, the room was clean, no freaky bugs bite, the bed matress and pillows were very confortable (it deserves to be mentioned), i also had a big refrigerator, The building is a bit old it is located on street 172., close to many restaurants and... We stayed here for 8$ a night in a room with a big bed and a fan. Nothing special but if your going to live cheap this is good place near the riverside. The lady who runs the place is nice and have got a couple of cats running around.

From my experience this guesthouse isn't any nice... The toilet and sink was leaking all over and the room felt disgusting. The lady who owns the place is kind but I can't recommend it. However a few weeks later some friends of mine stayed there and their room looked much better.

Stayed here about 10 days $12 p/n. A/C, hot shower, cable TV, comfy beds.. Staff changed the quilt covers along with sheets when cleaning room.. No bugs as others have reviewed. Excellent, incredible omelets and good french press coffee. WiFi is slow. The dog is a bit yappy and the lady that runs it a little strange but overall one... More

I was tired of searching places what tuktukdrivers offer me, i decided to go by foot myself and find this wonderful place, where i could stay a long week. you're here not far from "River front" and Royal Palace is nearby. It's in 172 street, in the street with all the bars and restaurants.

Spotty sheets, spotty towels, spotty walls, no toilet paper, no hot water, grime. All to be expected at this price range I'd say. But bed bugs are not excusable. Neither are crumbs in the sheets. My fault for not checking tripadvisor first and not examining the bed well enough. But if you're reading this, everyone says: "bedbugs" On the funny... More

Shame on lonely planet recommendation to end in this place. We had to change hotels at 11pm due to bed bugs all over the room. You can find better room for the same cost at the same street. Its a pitty because its a family house and they seem not to consider basic aspects of cleaning and attention to guests.

Definitely agree with the majority of the reviews here, and felt compelled to write as the LP review is far more favourable than this place deserves. We are used to basic accommodation but after 30minutes of lying down in bed we started to scratch all over and found a few of the suspected bed bugs - we quickly packed up... More
