I was searching for a place to stay for one night when I arrived here in this area of the city. I was tired of searching and the only wish was sleeping. Here was very cheap and soft extremely good, I did not suspect so good, but here there was.

Stayed here in a double room sharing a bathroom for 10 usd, one of the lowest prices we could find in Phnom Penh during the low season. The place has some nice (multilingual: Dutch, English, Khmer, French, etc) staff around, ready for a chat around the bar, it's clean and, as I've said, cheap! Would definitely stay again when I'm...

We stayed here for a night in the dorm in a double bunk bed for 9$. International staff was friendly and everything was well organized. The place was recently taken over and refurnished, but their old website is still in the air. For instance they do not serve a full menu or the top banana anymore, just snacks.

Travelled around Canada, NZ and Asia for a year and this was definitely one of the best hostels we stayed at. $17/ night for a king size en suite room with aircon. After a long time travelling we were not interested in too much partying so the Mini Banana was a good compromise- always someone interesting at the bar to...

Stumbled across this bar in PP and had to pop in for a drink - we stayed for four! Chilled vibes and friendly people. Drinks are inexpensive and served with a smile. Nice neighbourhood near Malis Restaurant which is also a must. The bar is being extended during the low season so I expect this place will only improve in...

They have a great selection of cocktails and shooters and the prices are very reasonable! Don't forget to play...

We stayed in a dorm room upstairs for 4 dollars. What you see is definitely what you get. This is not a problem, it is not luxury and we did not expect it. The reason I want to give this place such a bad review is the level of noise that meant we both slept just half an hour in...

We were staying in a boutique hotel next door but used this bar every day & night. Great staff, friendly and helpful. Cheap prices even by Phnom Penh prices.. $3 G&T served in a chilled half pint mug! And a great atmosphere. You would be foolish not to give it a try!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In a genuine Khmer neighborhood, in a free-from-traffic-sounds back alley just behind the busy nightlife of Street 278, lies Mini Banana Guesthouse. With its jungle-layback look we create a nice hide away guesthouse with bar and restaurant for the backpackers. With the local Khmer and expats dropping in at night-time we offer you a real Khmer experience with a travellers edge. With the completely renovated A/C dorm, and 7 private rooms (A/C or Fan), we provide accommodation for every taste and budget. We can help you with your visa and other services, and can provide you with information about the many things to do in Pnom Penh. With our new kitchen we can provide you day and night with the taste's of East and West from our new menu. During the day, a chillout vibe rules the guesthouse, engage in chess, watch a movie, read a book in the many lounge area's, and share idea's with the many backpackers. At night the vibe transforms in an energetic atmosphere, the bar lights up, the locals drop in, the pool table attracts its guests, and with the right amount of people we might even get the poker chips out. ... more   less

“myabe the private rooms the most far away from the bar.... but even that. the place is so small that you will hear loud music and people, everywhere you stayed. The dorm is an open door, but you have lockers inside. Almost no light, but some fans working. Hot at night.”
