Stayed at the Sangkum for a week in June 2016 for a business trip. Hotel is located on a quieter side street but is only a $2 tuk-tuk ride away from the main attractions (they even have a handy sign telling you how to much pay to certain areas and landmarks). The decor is modeled after the Sangkum period in...

A little off the main attractions, near the crazy Monhivong boulevard, at walking distance to the French Embassy and the Calmettes Hospital, the Sangkum Hotel is a villa transformed into a boutique hotel. I spent there three night and it was definitely a wonderful idea. The staff is very nice, always helpful and happy to give us some tips about...

when we arrived to Phnom Penh first time in Cambodia we weren't aware they charged/preferred to charge you in U.S. dollars, over Cambodia riel. We arrived at hotel, organise and took us straight to rooms. Rooms tidy for a 3 1/2 star. The only thing was they (management) really didn't offer any advise as to what to see, but we...

We are a family of 4 and enjoyed our stay of 3 nights at the Sangkum Hotel. We had 2 rooms that looked over the pool/garden and shared a large, comfortable terrace. One of the rooms was a suite and had both a queen and twin bed. Our teenagers stayed in that room and the air conditioner worked much to...

We like to travel round Asia and we have certain things we look for when it comes to choosing a hotel: clean and comfortable, a pool to relax in after sightseeing, 'good enough breakfast' availability of a moped to explore and far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far to catch a Tuk tuk. This hotel...

This is a small hotel, full of character and charm. The rooms are nicely kitted out with big showers and some with a balcony. The service is friendly and personnal and the pool is spotless and welcome after a day sightseeing. In addition the food is good and drinks reasonably priced. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes a...

The manager of the hotel was very helpful. The room was clean; however, the air conditioner was almost non-functional. Phnom Penh is a very hot & humid city; we had to have the ceiling fan on level 5 in order to keep the room tepid. The a/c was on; however, you would never know it...cold air never made it very...

This hotel felt like an oasis in a busy city. Comfortable room, with air con and a walk in shower. Great choices for breakfast. And also a really good menu for food at the restaurant. All at a very reasonable price.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Sangkum is a boutique hotel conveniently located in a residential area which used to be the old french colonial heart of Phnom Penh during the protectorate. A quiet area close to Wat Phnom, the French embassy and Calmette hospital. Main touristic attractions are within 5 minutes drive by tuk tuk. The villa is inspired from the Sangkum era. We have 12 spacious and comfortable rooms, with a luxurious garden and a swimming pool perfectly spotted to cool down after a tough working day or a sightseeingtrip in the heat of Phnom Penh. Out of sight from the street, the garden and the swimming pool offer you a private and calm area. The restaurant is entirely outdoor and is directly linked with the garden, the patio and its bar, creating a large and cool open space. Our dedicated staff will take care of all your needs and make your stay an unforgettable moment during your trip in Cambodia. ... more   less
