we booked this at the last minute for two days of luxury. tucked away behind walls and accesses by a small door you would never know this oasis of tranquility existed. we stayed in room 15 which had a nice balcony to sit out on and two rooms. the sun pool was lovely although beds were limited. the food was...

Our jaws dropped when we entered the gorgeous tropical grounds with the lovely Lush Pool in the centre. The décor and atmosphere is so tastefully exotic and Indo-chic. The beauty of the "front" part of the hotel/grounds might even be slightly surpassed by the amazing back section where the Sun Pool is located. Our room (#32) was on the ground...

Very beautiful, safe oasis from the hustle of Phnom Penh. Rooms are small and basic but considering the price not an issue. Beautiful transport in a jaguar with a lovely driver from the airport and delicious breakfasts.

Stayed here for three nights in February. The garden/pool areas are tranquil and peaceful considering the central location of the hotel. We booked a double room which didn't look like the photos on the website or live up to the standards/first impression of the rest of the hotel. The room could have done with modernisation and more natural light (we...

The hotel is very beautiful (oasis in the middle of the center) and very well located next to touristic attractions. The service is good but the room is average. Had higher expectations given the comments. There are two swimming pools which are, unfortunately, very small.

I really wish I could give the Pavilion a higher rating. We loved the feeling of walking into a little oasis in the middle of Phnom Penh. The gardens are lovely and lush. The pools are pretty to look at. The buildings and decor and beautiful and you feel like you've stepped back in time staying there. We requested the...

Dear Tigerbro, Thank you for your long review. Indeed there are birds in Phnom Penh and the Pavilion being mainly a large garden, they sometimes decide to enjoy the greenery as well. We do clean the outdoor spaces daily in any case. The Jaguar is an old lady and it does requires constant repair which are done weekly. We also...

Two lovely pools to choose from with day beds in the shade or lounges in the sun. With complimentary lime, orange or passionfruit before 6 around the pool. Great breakfast options pancakes, eggs bacon and pastries although portions are not large so you can eat a couple of options in one sitting. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms...

We arrived early at 12 noon however the staff wasted no time in getting our room ready. When we saw it we were thrilled as we had our own private terrace bit as well. The breakfast was included and basically the chef would just cook what you wanted. You could eat as much as you like from 7 - 10...

Great boutique hotel - great location, rooms & pools. The breakfast was also very good. In January when we were there the place next door was being renovated so it was a bit loud at times. There are two seperate pool which is nice but we still struggled to find pool chairs

Dear Louise, Thanks! Indeed, we have two main pools and four private ones. All have sunbeds. But it is true that at some times lots of people use them.... Cheers, Alexis

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
