First time we've checked out the same day we've checked in. Although the rooms were spacious and the shower was pretty good we didn't want to sleep there. The room was dirty, worn out and dark. The bed was uncomfortable and had dirty sheets. When we wanted to check in there was no staff in the hotel (noon). Someone that... More

I just stayed 2 nights at the Lao Heritage but really liked the staff there who were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were fine, tho a bit tired and worn but had everything you needed and ditto for the bathrooms. Breakfast was pretty crap and think they should scrap it really. It's in a quiet location, just 200m from... More

Arrived there in the night after long bus trip and followed the LP. Actually everything is worn or broken in this place. Breakfast extremely basic. Wifi works ok. They wanted to charge me extra because I had a "deluxe room". Look somewhere else.

We agree with the previous reviews, disappointing after the review in Lonely Planet, and definitely in need of some attention....like a complete overhaul and some new beds! Breakfast was woefully inadequate. Great staff but I feel sorry they have to face the dissatisfied customers. Think the owners need 'taking to task' expecting paying guests to stay here. Much better places... More

Was surprised LP rated so highly, you can get better value in the same area. Rooms a bit worn.mould on walls, broken off shower door. Rock hard bed which is often the norm for backpacking in Laos, but for 23$, expect just a little more comfort..which you can get elsewhere. Wouldn't stay here again.

If all you need is a great smile at the reception Lao Heritage Hotel might be your first choice. But the place does not deserve any recommondation at all. I write this review mainly because I picked it from a Lonely Planet recommondation, but found myself very dissatisfied. The bed was extremely squeaky, walls to the adjacent rooms paper thin leaving... Had a three night stay at this hotel. The hotel is clean and spacious. However the furniture and condition of the room was aged. The walls had chip marks and needed a paint job. The toilet\ bathroom is comparatively small; the shower cubicle, sink and toilet are all with in an arms length from each other. I never had any... More

Just left the hotel yesterday, it was clean but very tired looking and basic. Excellent location. The staff are very helpful and the laundry is only 8000 kip per kg which is really good and we got it back the next day. They organised are cheap taxi to the airport (60,000 kip).

After staying here one night, I am shocked lonely planet chose this spot for their top choice in Vientiane. Extremely overpriced (most spots for equal or better value go for $10-20 a night), dingy and dirty (one room had mold and all of the rooms were dark and dank), and customer service was lacking in every way imaginable. ...
