We arrived in Vientiane during a downpour, which may have affected our opinion of an adjacent hotel, which was dilapidated and decidedly unwelcoming. We walked into the Mandala and were immediately welcomed and found a room. After two days we were asked if we wanted a bigger room; if you are going to sit out bad weather that makes a...

Dear Mr Googong, Kob jai lai lai for your review on Mandala Boutique Hotel. We are happy to hear that you have had a pleasant stay with us despite the muddy access road. We will convey your positive reviews to the staff. We look forward to see you back at Mandala again someday soon. Warm regards.

A very nice change after my trip through Laos. I stayed here for my final nights in Vientiane and found the Hotel to be very comfortable and quiet. The location is a reasonable easy walk to most of the attractions you may want to go to, though it is a little difficult to find. The day staff are excellent and...

Dear Steven, Thank you for your lovely comments. We are happy that you have had a pleasant stay with us. Our recently re-opened restaurant has now a wide range of ala-carte menu. We apologise for the limited menu when you were staying with us as our executive chef was still deciding on the ala-carte menu. As for the roadworks, we...

Nice boutique hotel nearby the Rover Mekong, and close to town centre. Not easy to locate without assistance though. Oriental decorations of the rooms help build up a cozy atmosphere. Clean and tidy. Breakfast simple but adequate. Friendly staff.

Spent 2 nights here in one of the larger rooms with a separate lounge (not that we remember booking that). Plenty of space and a lovely night sleep on both occasions. Certainly can't fault the hotel when it comes to the room or the staff and the style of the building is very colonial. Couple of downsides though, the breakfast...

Sabaidee and kob jai lai lai for your comments. We are glad that your stay with Mandala Boutique Hotel was a memorable one. We are trying to improve on our breakfast for our guests and hope that in the near future our breakfast spread would be better. We hope to see you back in Laos soon. Thank you.

Peaceful. Elegant. Relaxing. Stayed 2 nights after a week cycle trip. Staff were friendly, professional & knowledgable. Hotel is close to town centre but far away enough to be secluded & quiet. Room was opulent & well decorated but reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Colonial style hotel situated on the outskirts of Vientiane. It is a good 20-25 min walk into the centre. The night market is close by 10-15min walk. Having arrived from Thailand the day before we found the Hotel expensive and clients are not catered for as well as previous hotels in Thailand....

We spent two nights here whilst we explored Ventiane. We were lucky to have the executive room at the front of the hotel with a huge private balcony. The room is very large, the decor is striking, but tired. The bathroom was tiny compared to the room. The first night we had no hot water, despite following instructions to leave...

We had booked a so-called suite (room No. 403) for three nights but found the receptionists not very welcoming and the accommodation in a very run down state. Wallpaper was peeling off, he black wallpaper and the settee in the sitting room was stained and the water faucet of the bath tub was unusuable. On the other hand the bedroom...

Mandala is more a large Guest House than a Boutique Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and were lucky enough to have the large suite with four-poster bed and large balcony. This made our stay very comfortable. However, the bathroom was very small and basic and the shower was luke warm (nearly cold!) Mandala is clean...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
As Vientiane changes, so does our villa. Originally built as a private residence for a French family in the 1960s, the site became a school with up to 500 children in 1992 before it was turned into a hotel at the beginning of this century. Despite the changes, our guests still can feel the privacy and comforts of home in each corner of the hotel. The four original buildings host 23 newly designed rooms and are surrounded by a green and cozy garden with seats under large shady trees. The Mandala Boutique Hotel is located in a small side road away from the busy streets of Vientiane, but within walking distance to the city center and just a 15-minute drive from the airport. ... more   less
