I was there on an official trip. the hotel is average- what could have been a great view of the Mekong is spotlit by a large piece of un-populated land right in front. Keep your curtains drawn during the day if you get a Mekong facing room as the air conditioning is average and the sun hits the windows directly...

I stayed here one night and found the location to be a distance away from the city center. They do have a free shuttle bus to the Fountain Square but there are limited departures. Walking around the neighborhood, I did not find many places to eat. The lobby is huge and check in was fast. My room was a suite...

Unlike many other hotels in Asia this place truly deserves its 4 star rating. Big rooms, fully functioning amenities, staff speaks decent English, quite ok breakfast (especially if you choose freshly made soup). Nothing special, nothing to complain about. I'd return.

It is located just next to the Mekong River. Spacious compound but did not have the chance to explore the surrounding as I was on a hectic business trip. Breakfast and lunch offers decent selection. The Riverland Restaurant has a Malaysian chef thus it offers one or two Malaysian dishes at any time. Portion of food served by the Cantonese...

I stayed at the Don Chan Palace Hotel & Convention for one day during my layover in Vientiane and I wish it was longer. The staff was nice and greeted me well as I entered the hotel and took me and my luggage to my room with no problem, even though the hotel was huge. I enjoyed a spacious and...

This is one of the top hotels supposedly, but staff can barely communicate in English. They do not know their own city or how to give directions to a (very expensive) hotel driver, to take you to a destination a few blocks away.

Stayed in the Don Chan Palace for business. It is a big hotel with an adjacent convention centre where my meetings took place. In that sense it was very convenient. However, it is outside the city centre and you have to walk quite a bit or take a taxi, which is quite expensive by Southeast Asian standard. My room overlooked...

The hotel is relatively well placed and most beautiful view of the Mekong. The rooms are adequate and more for the extra bed is a real bed actually. No by-charm against on the Chinese hotel). A nightclub on site that starts after 23h. Both restaurants are deserted cons: While in Vientiane excellent abounds.
