I have stayed here many many times over the years. The rooms are economical in every way. Decent sized rooms with AC, reasonable WIFI, and bathrooms with hot showers. Some rooms are in better shape than others but all are serviceable. I like that the rooms are sparsely furnished. TV has a few English channels and HBO which I wouldn't... More

I have been here in Vayakorn guesthouse for several times, and for 1,2,3 days when I was there. The rooms were nice, staff was friendly and helpful although their English is not the best.. Which can be funny and whole of Lao is bad in English so it is "same same" I came here at first because my parents (let's... More

This is my personal experience. You might have a completely different experience. Do not attack me for my own experience. You have been warned. Wow. First night in Laos. How exciting right? No! My expectations were low but not as low as the Vayakorn guesthouse. Found a cockroach in the bathroom and heard a women screaming outside "stop don't touch... More

Location was pretty good and the room clean and cozy enough. However the members of the staff weren't really friendly and the price seemed a bit high compared to other places around the town. Overall it was ok

BEWARE! Any and all of you looking to stay here in the near future; i can't speak for all rooms but Room 101 is most assuredly infested with BED BUGS. I have the bites all over my body and sightings to prove it. If you want the whole story, continue on: The place could use a makeover, the downstairs smells... More

Stayed here a couple of nights in February 2016. The guest house is slightly cheaper than the similarly-named Vayakorn Inn just a few paces away on an adjoining road. It is right next to Monument Books and across it is a lovely, but expensive place for Lao textiles. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and spotless. The stair steps... More

Thoroughly adequate, nicer than all the other places I looked at. Bit lacking in charm on the front desk - nothing unpleasant just nothing positive either. Wooden floors were lovely, rooms decent size, although mine had a wall pretty much next to the sole window, which made it a little claustrophobic.

I spent there a few weeks and I had a good overall treatment. It is very neat and clean, the staff is friendly and the rooms are simple but good. I changed a few rooms and the best was the single and double on the first and third floor on the front side of the hotel. The only slightly negative... More

I stayed in a single room, with air conditioning and the room had a private bathroom. It's clean and it's in a fantastic location. It's just back from the main street, so it is pretty quiet at night. It's walking distance to many cafes, restaurants and the riverfront. Keep in mind that it is a budget option, do not expect... More

my room was not very clean, (hairs, dust), the walls were very stained, the room was ugly decorated (100 year-old dirty curtains), the only chair had very stained fabric on the seat so I did not want to use it. the room was downright depressing and the staff was also not helpful or friendly.

“Any rooms on the 3rd floor, right hand side have large windows with unobstructed view (nothing spectacular) but you are not staring into the wall of another building so you have night natural light. I had the corner room at the back (306) so I had 180 degree view which I think makes a difference. Wifi worked great in my room.”
