Conveniently situated a short tuktuk ride from the central train- and bus stations, the YWCA is an architectual gem in the midst of central Colombo. The beautiful buildning, partly designed by world famous Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, has a lovely verandah to protect you from sun and rain while you take your coffee or tea under its roof. The...

Friendly and helpful staff. Situated in a beautiful old house, the guest house is very central, and although basic, has all that is necessary. Rooms at the front can be noisy as on a busy road, but earplugs dull any traffic sounds. Wifi available in communal areas and in some rooms adjacent to the dining room cum reception.

We didnt actually stay in this place because although we made a reservation, they gave our room away to other guests just to tell us at our arrival that we didnt actually have a reservation or we called the wrong place. When this was proven wrong, they simply said they didnt read the email we send and the room that...

We have just returned from a holiday and stayed here in Colombo and returned 3 weeks later for our flight home. It is a quiet and historical place to stay, rooms are huge with ensuite, aircon and mossie nets. All rooms are quiet. Includes breakfast and Deepani and staff a delight to deal with. It is close to historical sights,...

As soon as you enter this super nice old villa, you feel very welcomed. The staff is just so nice. The rooms are big, cool and clean. There is a nice veranda where you can relax from busy Colombo. Breakfast is included. Everything was perfect! Definitely recommendable!

We stayed in a triple room (no a/c) for our first night in Colombo, and liked it so much that we stayed here again at the end of our journey. The guesthouse is clean, and has a lovely central area where breakfast is served in the morning. There is also an outdoor area that you can use to sit back...

We spent a night here and enjoyed it. Centrally located, but quiet. They've kept the character of the nice colonial building with old furniture and historical pictures. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very good value for rather pricey Colombo.

200+ year old Dutch villa, spartan yet spacious room, clean & tidy. Close enough to walk to the art market to the south and Galle Face to the north. We had a late night flight to catch, and Deepani was kind enough to let us leave our bags after checkout and have an evening shower - thanks so much!

We arrived at 1.00 am to a ready-made, cool room. It was so welcoming. The rooms are basic but clean and our room (4) was spacious (we are 2 adults and a child). The breakfast is simple and satisfactory, lots of toast, coffee/tea, jam and a boiled egg. The main common area is very pleasant with a large and comfortable...
