Wow! Just got home after a quick weekend in Istanbul - and this hotel was the cherry on top. Fantastic staff, great accommodations - I had a rooftop room w a balcony overlooking the park. The spa is also great. I booked last minute the Turkish hammam ritual Bath and it was heaven on earth. I'm wondering now when I...

A great boutique hotel - handy location, very good restaurant and the hotel staff's service was outstanding... in particular the extremely patient and helpful Director of Guest Relations, who fielded hundreds of questions from me! When & if I go back to Istanbul I'll stay here again, no question

The overall experience was great, we would definitely return. We are little concerned at the distance to the old town but it was very easy via the funicular and then the tram. The rooms were great, I wouldn't bother paying extra for the deluxe corner room unless you get a higher floor to get the views. We were on 5...

The Gezi Hotel Bosphorus is a lovely hotel on the edge of Taksim Square. Excellent service, nice restaurant, exception staff and a great spa. The room was comfortable and modern, although it could have used a lot more lighting in the desk area. At night, it was so dim that it was hard to find things, and difficult to work...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
