Fatih and his staff are wonderfully helpful in all possible ways. There's a good travel agent next door, and a really good, cheap restaurant on the corner nearby with a set menu at the best price we saw anywhere in town. Literally a stone's throw from the Blue Mosque and not far from the other major tourist sites. Being in...

My son and I visited Istanbul together and stayed in a deluxe twin room at the Best Point Hotel. The room was elegantly decorated, very clean, and good size, especially by European standards. Fatih and all the other staff were super helpful and nice to us. The hotel is located literally 5-10 minutes leisurly walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia...

Rooms are really tiny but beautifully decorated The receptionist is loud and will force/try to sell tickets to concerts and turkish dance. The hotel is centrally located and a lot of attractions are at walkable distance. No amenities other than the coffee maker. The staff need to be softspoken and sophesticated. They are a bunch of immature youngsters who keep...

We enjoyed the Best Point hotel and found the staff friendly and helpful. Crisp linens on the bed and a nice room. It's not as close to the Blue Mosque and Haga Sophia as some but only a couple blocks down. The mattress was very firm (too firm for me) and the continental breakfast featured a plethora of beautiful baked...

The hotel is nice and clean, the staff is very friendly. The view from the hotel terass is great! You are close from everything: top Istanbul attractions, restaurants, shops. The standard rooms are small but deluxe ones with jacuzzi are really ok (considering the hotel location-Sultanahmet). We found in the deluxe rooms the most comfortable pillows and mattresses of all...

Stayed here for the Turkish Grandprix and can't fault the hotel. Perfect location, quiet but about 2 minutes walk to all the main sights plus on a fantastic street of restuarants. Staff in the hotel were absolutely amazing, welcome drink on arrival, Turkish delight in the rooms, arranging us transport to the grandprix. I think we went for a deluxe...

Ours was a first time visit to Istanbul with a wide ranging family group consisting of myself and my husband who are both pensioners ( he has health and mobility problems), my 28 year old son and his new Turkish wife and our two grandchildren age 8 and 13 (who are not too keen on sightseeing.) It was also the...

Best point has a fantastic location, a helpful staff, and very comfortable and attractive rooms. The top floor suite, with a full patio, a beautiful mosque view, and a private hamam and shower, is also a great value -- much less expensive than similar suites in the area. The room is a bit small for a suite, but still very...

We previously stayed at best point in may and were so impressed with the hotel and city went back in July, again lovely staff, rooms and food. Best point does not pretend to be a luxury hotel but the friendliness of the staff and it's location make it an excellent choice. I cannot recommend it enough ! Thanks again Fatih...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
