Perfect location, a short walk to everything. The staff were very helpful, nice and spoke English. A wonderful rooftop, I would think the best in town. The room was small but well functioning and very clean. Next times in Istanbul I am going to stay at Adamar Hotel again.

Great little hotel with a perfect location to see the major sights of Istanbul by foot. Short walk to get to all major sights, including hop on/off bus station. The staff at hotel are excellent and will help plan any exursion, or even arrange for airport pickup. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant which for an early evening dinner has...

I stayed at the Adamar in 2010 and returned with my son and daughter-in-law for another stay in February 2012. The rooms are not fancy, but they are nice and they are CLEAN! The off-season rates (including tax and breakfast) cannot be beat. You can walk to virtually any site in Istanbul from this location. The staff is great, and...

Adamar Hotel was an excellent choice and we will definitely be returning. They picked us up at the airport, had a very helpful reception (even with the oddest of our questions) and the rooftop panoramic view is the perfect way to start the day with the complimentary breakfast and end a day with a drink at sunset. Everyone spoke fluent...

We were worried about staying at the Adamar Hotel just based on the descriptions of the room size and everything on tripadvisor. We were pleasantly surprised on how spacious the rooms were and how comfortable the bed was. We were prepared for a room with little or no space, but our room (Room No. 102) was terrific, although we wished...

The hotel has nice rooms and is very clean. The service is good and employees very helpful. The roof terrace is great with a perfect view over the city to the Golden Horn. The location of the hotel is really perfect. Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace are just 5 min walking distance. Fish House Sultanahmet is 3 walking...

The Adamar did not disappoint in any facet. First, the view from the rooftop terrace is unlike any I have seen elsewhere in the world. Due to the height of the building, the terrace offers a completely unobstructed view of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque that is spectacular. If the weather is not cooperative, the restaurant just below the...

My wife and I stayed here for four nights in February. The location for sightseeing is fantastic. Less than a couple of minutes away from some serious sights! Close to public transportation and restaurants. No need for taxis, just walk everywhere! The hotel’s restaurant is enclosed in glass on the roof…what a great way to start the day with spectacular...

Stayed for 3 nights in February on a city-break with the family & friends. The huge plus for the Adamar is the location, as it is staggering distance to the main Sultanahmet sites; Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and a relatively short walk to shops, the Grand & Spice Bazaars, Galati Bridge & other sites, although be warned that these...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
