Close to Galata bridge with nice view located in a safe, not touristic area. The rooms are huge but all the money is the staff.

My wife and myself stayed at the Witt for 7 nights from 6th November to 13th November, 2011. We were in suite 62 on the top floor and had fantastic views of the Bosphorus, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Golden Horn, Galata Tower, etc, etc, etc. We paid 258 Euro per night. Turkish breakfast was included. It comprised eggs made... More

Attractive well located suites, very comfortable and clean, excellent helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Short walk to the tram though it is up a steep hill on the way back. Short journey to all the sites. Well located for good restaurants and bars. An area that is being gentrified. Thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed here for three nights and wish we could have done for a lot longer. Great place, superb service and amazing location. Cihangir is very central and near to the old town, the lively Taksim Square area but better than that has many hidden interesting bars, restaurants and shops. No comments about the hotel apart from we loved it!

Yes. Choose this hotel. It's not directly in the touristy areas but the attractions are very accessible indeed - especially with the tophane tram stop so nearby. The hill as mentioned by many others is steep but it's not that bad really once you've done it the first time. We got in at a ridiculously early hour and the room... More

We stayed at the Witt for three nights. I chose the Witt based on Tripadvisor ratings and an article in the Globe & Mail newspaper. They were certainly correct. The hotel is stylish, comfortable and well located in Cihanger, an area becoming gentrified. The staff couldn't have been more helpful particularly Ali who always seemed to be at the front... More

I rate the Witt 5 stars as I believe the hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. The hotel is in the Cihanger area which is becoming hip and desirable; unfortunately, it is one of the hillier areas of the city. The walk up from the tram is incredible; although, many (even those in my age category)... More

This small hotel in excellent location of lively Istanbul between Taksim square and Galata Bridge is one of the best hotel experiences that I had in my life. The hotel is built in modern design and stlye that give me ideas for my personal dream architecture house. The rooms are spacy and clean and very comfortable. The team who runs... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
