Very close to the big attractions in Istanbul and close to a tram stop. Plenty of affordable eating options nearby and the breakfast is sufficient. Room was a little small but fine for the two of us, staff were friendly and helpful although some spoke very little english

I have been staying in Meddusa Hotel 3 times from 2011. In fact, I haven't tried any other hotels in Istanbul. The hotel is beautifully located: very close to Grand Bazar, Sultanahmed square and other historical places of Istanbul. It has great view from the top floor where they serve breakfast. The price of rooms is nothing in comparison to...

The rooms are small but the location is perfect ! For going out and visiting the old part of the city is the best place to book a room! The people from the hotel are very kind and ready to help you with any type of problems that you may have during your accommodation .

Very close to all the main sights on the historic peninsula yet excellent value. Rooms are small but comfortable (excellent beds), and the lobby interior looks a little dated and smells slightly stale, but overall we were very happy with this hotel. We stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of our time in Turkey. From experience of staying...

Excellent location, next to the bazar and the mosques. Staff is so welcoming and made be feel being at home. I got tea and fruits for free, The view from the roof terrace is great as well. Hamam and the old ottoman café restaurant are around the corner.

It's near the most important sights on foot, serves nice breakfast, has clean rooms and comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and helpful. The WIFI is free! As you are in Turkey, you should leave a dollar on the bed when you go sightseeing and you'll surely get your room cleaned with clean towels, etc. You should know, however, that...

In this small hotel it is all about location: a few steps away from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Cemberlitas, the Grand Bazar... The building itself is very characteristic, the entrance being just a small door with an even smaller sign on it, covered by a kebab restaurant. Our double room was big enough for two people, with a large,...

Quite near to all the tourist spots, restaurants and to shop, walking distance. The room was small nevertheless clean and tidy. Breakfast served at the roof terrace. Extremely beautiful scenery in the morning and at night. We just love being there at night watching the colourful Bosphorus river. Great hospitality from Hussein, 1 of the staff.

The only reason we chose this place was because it was near the finish line of the Istanbul Marathon. Except that after the marathon, their water was gone... We had to go across the road to a hammam just for running water, so we didn't seize up after the race. (that cost a fortune too btw) Apparently the water goes...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
