Great value for money, good location (few hundred meters from hippodrome square where most of the attractions and activities are), ultra cleanliness, great staff (especially the nice breakfast lady on the rooftop restaurant), room and bathroom well equipped and good services (except for the shower gel / shampoo they provide, it's some sort of disgusting transparent mixture that smells like...

Dear Sidou, Thank you for your comments. Of course we respect your oponion. But your review may mislead the people who wants to make reservation at our hotel. We purchase shampoos from a big company since 2010. I will pass your comments to them. But shampoos are not so cheap as you think. I tried this shampoo as well. I...

Great hotel for singles.. clean, secure, updated, and offer sea view. Beds are clean, restrooms are spotless and staff are friendly. One drawback is it's about 10 min walk from tram/metro. Nextdoor hotels sell twice or thrice price for same quality.. only because of brand name i guess.

My wife and I recently spent 3 days in Istanbul at the Saruhan. It's a small, clean and comfortable hotel with helpful staff. The rooms are a reasonable size with a large bathroom and very good shower. The breakfast buffet has everything you need to start the morning. If you want an omelette, it's only 1 euro. By the way...

Great small hotel in the residential area beneath Sultanahmet, not more than 10 mins walk to Hippodrome. Rooms with a balcony are great and a big value with current Istanbul hotel prices. View from the breakfast terrace is great too, though there is still unfinished construction in front of the hotel. But looks like they will finish soon. Rooms are...

This excellent hotel is located in easy walking to the main Sultanahmet attractions and yet is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are clean and lovely with excellent housekeeping. The breakfast is lovely and served on the terrace with a gorgeous view. Great, no frills hotel with a super helpful host. View from the terrace is the bomb. Room is relatively large! Very clean. Breakfast is the best of Turkish breakfast. Beats a lot of 4/5 star rated places I've stayed at.

Location is great - a short walk from the main sights in Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar). The staff are very helpful, giving us guidance for directions. Breakfast was very good, with lots of vegetarian options. The view from the terrace is lovely! The room was very nice, with a safe, mini fridge, very good Wifi,...

We stayed at the Saruhan Hotel for four nights. Our room had a little balcony and was facing the rear so very quiet. The rooms are soundproofed so no waking up to "the call of prayer"! - VERY quiet! Great position as only minutes away for places to eat. We organized a transfer from airport for 22€ and they were...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
