I stayed at the hostel for 6 days, 5 nights. I chose the shared 4-bed dorm. This hostel is great. STAFF: The staff are very kind- they will help you with anything you need, just ask. LOCATION: The location most of all is the best. It's a 1 minute (not even) walk next to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, and...

We have stayed here 3 or 4 times. The location is perfect for the old city sights, near the tram stop, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Arasta Bazaar, etc., but it is on a very quiet street. We need 2 beds and prefer room 4, one flight up from reception (no elevator). We have 2 windows that open wide and a spacious...

As a solo traveler i was looking for a friendly place where i can feel more comfortable. Indeed, I found it here. A great place, perfect location, perfect terrace sea view & a very friendly staff. I was lucky to have some good travelers at the same time here. I don't really know how would it be in somewhere else,...

I loved my short stay at Antique Hostel. The location is perfect, not far from the Sultanahmet tram stop and surrounded by all the important sites, but still lovely and quiet at night. My room was small but very comfortable and had everything I needed. Lots of hot water and a good breakfast from the stunning roof top terrace make...

My girlfriend and I are driving through Europe, Turkey and are going to Southeast Asia! Normally we go camping, but in Istanbul this is quite expensive and far away from the city. So we looked up hostels that are close to the center and where we can park our car. We found Antique Hostel and it is perfect. 1) We...

The place is affordable and is quite central. Most of the places such as Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand bazar are all walkable from the hotel. It's great if you are backpacking. And some nice restaurants around as well. The cocktails in the hotel are also quite good.

Well, if you are on a schedule for couple of days in Istanbul and want to see as much as possible in the centre of the city, then this could be a good place. I was there for just two days in August and location is perfect. Hostel is just behind the Blue Mosque, three minutes from Aja Sofia and...

Great location! Staffs are friendly and speaks good English. Since we are out mostly running around town sightseeing, we found paying absurd amount of money for where you sleep is just, well, absurd. It's not really a breakfast buffet but it's sufficient. And if you need to do laundry, another hotel right across the street will do it for 8Lira...

One of the best hostels we've stayed at with free breakfast (sea view included), comfortable rooms and a rooftop terrace. The hostel is a 5 minute walk for Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque with plenty of restaurants and bars around. We vacated the hostel for a night and were able to leave our bags stored until our return. Staff...

There are many hostels in this area around Sultanahmet. I have stayed in a few. This time I was here with my wife so decided we should stay at Antique Hostel as it's a bit more comfortable. It was the right choice. The private rooms here are more like a good guesthouse than a hostel but significantly cheaper. The view...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
