Ferman Hotel was booked as part of package through www.lastminute.com - this is the second time I've used this website and 100% success so far for all services booked. Ferman hotel is a wonderful 24 bedroom property located a few minutes behind the famous Blue Mosque - so close that when we got lost on our first day, we were...

We chose this hotel for our first visit to Istanbul after reading all the trip advisor reviews and were keen to stay near the old part of the city and have easy access to sites such as the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace. This hotel is in the perfect place. The views from the top floor terrace are terrific...

This was the first time I visited Istanbul and I could have had a better start. Arrived in Istanbul and Ferman hotel on Monday afternoon and Tuesday evening, I was robbed by taxi driver who drove me from the workplace back to the hotel. But luckily I got was a great help to the hotel manager Serkant Kaval, who helped...

We used TripAdvisor to help us book our short break for our party of nine people and we were not disappointed with the Ferman Hotel. Ece, the hotel receptionist was incredibly helpful before our trip even began in organising our transfers from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. She was equally helpful in recommending and booking local restaurants for us. The hotel is...

I stayed at Ferman Hotel, Istanbul with my husband during a short 3-day leisure break. The location of the hotel is ideal, right next to all major historic sights. The hotel was cozy and comfortable. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The difference maker of this hotel was the service provided, which was excellent. When we arrived, the reception officer...

My wife and I stayed at the Ferman Hotel for a week in early February and couldn't have been any happier with the experience. Accustomed to staying in nicer hotels in the states, we were unsure what to expect. Upon arrival, we were shown 5 different room types (honestly, all of them looked great) and decided in the interest of...

Stayed here for just over a week. Took it after reading some of the other reviews here and certainly wasnt disappointed. The rooms are great - good beds, clean bathrooms TV, Wifi etc. You need to be aware that the call to prayer in the morning from the Blue Mosque (about 400 metres away up hill) is quite loud, but...

I stayed in Ferman Hotel for 3 nights. Together with my boss, we really liked the room where we stayed. Just nice for two people, and it's very comfortable and cozy. Most of all, we loved the customer service given to us by their staff. If given the chance to go back to Istanbul, i will still stay in Ferman...

Wikipedia definition .. " ferman is a royal mandate or decree issued by a sovereign in certain historical Islamic states, including the Ottoman Empire" .. hence the books in the lobby and the framed artwork. Loved the room and location .. faultless. It's only been open about 18 months .. perhaps that's why it's still in good nick. Regardless, comfy...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
