We visited Istanbul lately, and we stayed in Erten Konak, we felt very welcome from the first day until the last by Umit, the great receptionist, he made us feel at home, he proposed many options to visit the city and where to eat, the hotel was clean and tight, the decoration is very special, you get used to it...

Nice hotel well placed in Sultanahmet district very close to Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmed Mosque (aka the Blue Mosque). The hotel is a familly hotel with a few rooms. It is well decorated. The people are very nice, they try to help as much as possible. The price was OK (it was the touristic season). The room and the bathroom...

This time I stayed at a room with Blue Mosque view. Fantastic to be right in front of Blue Mosque during the stay! Especially the nighttime, you switch off the lights & the room does not become dark as you see Blue Mosque light up, from your bed! Extraordinary experience, indeed. Very helpful staff. Lovely antique interior decoration.

My experience in Erten Konak was simply amazing, not only because of its premium location, but also because of helpful and friendly staff. One person i would like to mention especially Umit; a very well dressed and disciplined staff member of the hotel.

We originally picked this hotel because the reviews stated that the breakfast was good, the location was on point and it was generally a great hotel. The positives: Location was great and walking distance to Sultan Ahmet and transport links. The shower was great. Nice staff and gave us detailed info on Istanbul. The negatives: Not much of a choice...

Beautiful set-up and feels like you've come to medieval age! Very close to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. The service is very good and I would recommend this hotel only for couples since the rooms are very small.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
