Guys, if you ever step by in Istanbul and wonder what's the coolest area, that's definitely in Beyoglu, around Taksim square. All kinds of cool bars, mainly awesome half hidden roooftops, and with that interesting local places, not as clean as Sultanahmet area, which would be the most touristic, but at least which has the honor of being honest. The... More

We were a group of more then ten people and the staff were amazing in accomodating us in the same room. It was a bit hard to find the hostel as it is not very visible. There are just 3 bathrooms for the whole 3-floor hostel so when you go to the WC or shower you need to go one... More

Chillout Cengo Hostel is located well only 5 minutes walk from Taksim square. It might be a bit hard to find the right door but ask people and they will help you! Hostel was nothing special but the athmosphere was nice and staff is helpful (we found amazing jazz place via the guy who worked there!!). One great side was... More

We stayed in this hostel with a group of 32 people. When arranging this hostel, the staff was already very helpful and kind, so this gave us the idea that the stay would be great. And it turned out to be great! Very helpful staff, that is even kind enough to arrange things for you in the middle of the... More

Great to stay if you short stay and you want to be close to night life. Not great if you are a non-smoker - this was my biggest heartache with the property, being a non-smoker and smelling the cigarette smoke everywhere. After 24 hours I wanted to run, but as I was on the go for already close to 3... More

very good location, very near from Istiklal street.. very good service nice people very safe the rooms very small especially double rooms...there is no lockers in it the stairs is tiring, you must ascend 2 floors to find the reception no enough toilets (3 toilets for about 30 persons in the floor).. so you must wait in the queue every morning

We had a double with private bathroom. Sure the room wasn´t the most prettiest and it stink a little (but not too much), but the bed was excellent, i slept so well. The location was perfect and it was easy to go around and staff was friendly and helpful.

If you want to stay cloce to the party and can live with trashiness and are okay with water damage in the ceiling of your room, this place is for you. However, if you value cleanliness, and a noise-free area, this hostel is definitely not for you!

Our driver who picked us up at the airport couldn't find this place. He had to stop for directions a bunch of times. But alas, we finally made it to the hostel! You have to go up a bunch of stairs. The hostel has some interesting decorations and the staff seemed really nice and was very helpful! The people around... More

Certainly not the best hostel we have stayed in. Location is ok easy to find and with in easy walk to all the major tourist spots. Wifi in our room was not the best. Toilet really smelly although clean. Bed comfortable. Not necessarily first choice if I came back to Istanbul.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
