Nice and clean with fantastic marmalade for breakfast and great view of the city from the rooftop overlooking the Golden Horn and the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It's a short distance from the historical center and there are many good restaurants in the area.

My partner & I stayed at Agora Guesthouse for 6 nights in mid April (a slightly delayed review). From the moment we checked in after a long flight from Australia, we felt that we would genuinely be looked after. The (private) room that we stayed in was good. Very clean & tidy with a good bathroom, & staff did a...

A big thank you to Orhan and the rest of the Agora staff for a great one-night stay there. The hostel is situated close to the main Sultanahmet attractions (Blue Mosque, Haga Sofia, etc.), so the location is perfect. The rooms and toilets were clean and appeared well maintained, and the wifi was fast. Orhan was also nice enough to...

Best is the top of the restaurant and the viewing platform, you can look at the port and the blue mosque, the line of sight is very good. I stayed at this hotel last year and had a fantastic time. I am so glad I was not disappointed at all this time. The staff members were as genuinely helpful and friendly as last time, the same generous breakfast, and the fantastic view from the terrace. The room was as clean as before, and the hotel is in such...

It was my first time traveling solo and staying at a hostel and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. It is kept very clean and the staff is friendly. I stayed in the female dormitory, it's simple and clean. My favorite part of the hostel is the view from the rooftop, so beautiful! And, top historical sites...

I got some of the best tips and recommendations at Agora before I left exploring Istanbul. My trip couldn't have been so could...

The stay at Agora was really good. The rooms were big and very clean. I stayed in the 4 bed room at Agora. There was enough space for my big huge suitcase that I was carrying around. The restrooms were kept very clean. The best part of the stay was its close proximity to the main areas of interest in...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
