I have just returned from a 5night stay at 5oda. Not only was the hotel a fabulous base for exploring Istanbul, but the hotel and its owners also became a wonderful and memorable part of my experience in the city. For bed-and-breakfast type accommodations, 5oda has it all--a fantastic location; friendly, fun, and knowledgeable owners; attractive, modern, well-designed rooms; and...

5oda is a great hotel, located in happening Beyoğlu - half a block, yes, downhill, from Istiklal Caddesi. And then even better, friendlier staff who provide assistance and recommendations - and then delicious breakfasts in your room. Sure, you could stay in sweltering, crowded Sultanahmet near the monuments. But don't. Instead, get one of 5oda's great rooms on a quiet,...

If you're looking for a unique place to stay in the hippest part of Istanbul, stay here! It's affordable, beautifully appointed and in a great location in Beyoglu (Galata) 2 mins walk from Galata Tower with its terrific views of the city, and in a neighborhood touted this year as the place to be. It's also 1 minute walk from...

7 of us stayed at 5 Oda at the end of May. The main purpose of our visit was for the Turkish Grand Prix, we also spent 2 days sightseeing afterwards. We could not have asked for anything more. Prior to our visit we had numerous questions which we e-mailed to Kazim, he was always prompt at replying and extremely...

My husband and I spent two nights at 5 Oda. It was the perfect place for us. The rooms were well-appointed, very attractive and extremely comfortable. I loved sitting at the front window and watching the street be repaved by hand with paving stones. The location could not have been better. It is on a quiet street half a block...

My friend and I really loved our short stay at 5oda. Unfortunately we only allowed ourselves one night here as we transited from Cappadocia to Syria, but every moment we spent here was great. Kazim and Senhur are both wonderful hosts and fascinating people with very interesting modern urban lives. They both speak impeccable English and are committed to getting...

This hotel came close to perfection for us. For location, comfort, service, quietness, convenience and hospitality it simply cannot be beat. The hotel operators (owners?), Sennur and Kazim, seemed to have limitless energy and enthusiasm for making our stay as pleasant as possible. Note, this hotel does not have a 24 hour reception desk. During evening and night hours we...

My friend and I stayed at the 5oda hotel for three nights, and we completely enjoyed it. Our fifth floor double room was very large, and decorated in a cool, modern style, with lots of light. The beds were extremely comfortable, and it was nice to have the fridge for keeping drinks cold. The location couldn’t be better – just...

Everything you read about 5oda is correct. The breakfasts are amazing and the range of small plates that you are offered is just incredible. No two days were the same. We had pots of yogurt, small dishes of mixed nuts/dried fruit or dates/figs/apricots, a large basket of sliced bread (3 different kinds), fresh fruit cut or sliced on a dish,...

The hosts Gulten and Senur give a dimension to the word hospitality. The room are spacious and clean. Breakfast brought to your room on a time you wish. Location is just around the corner of the famous shopping street Isteklal cadessi and the Galata tower. Sultanamet-district is within walking reach. it is the personal touch that make this place worth...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
