The twin room we had was smaller than expected but the hotel is in such a great location so we barely spent any time there and it met our needs. Clean and nice decor, also a fridge in the room. Breakfast was lovely and a good spread, we did not need lunch! (Maybe just a mid-afternoon Turkish pastry!). There is...

First of all, this is the smallest room I've ever stayed in, at a hotel. Despite that, there's still a good touch to it. Clean room, good people, great location...breakfast dish is mad boring, same plate of food every morning. Pretty central spot within Sultanahmet, which makes it ideal for those that want to easily access most parts of the...

We put up several guests here for our wedding in Istanbul. They all said they had a great time and especially appreciated the service/help from the staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is excellent. Middle of Sultan Ahmet region with a short walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and all the other great sites.

Conveniently located near Basilica Cistern & Hagia Sophia & Grand Bazaar etc. Basically walked all over from hotel but this is how one get to see more things on foot. Staff are generally helpful and breakfast is good, although the same breakfast is standard everywhere. Room was small but clean and well maintained enough to spend few comfortable nights. A...

I've stayed in this hotel twice now and I have to say that I adore it! It's funky, certainly nothing fancy, but the location and the general vibe of the place is perfect. The staff have to be my absolute favorite part and I have left Hotel Han both times with hugs and promises of keeping in touch. Doesn't hurt...

It is centrally located great hotel - few steps from Yerebatan Sarai. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly, Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Rooms were clean and very well maintained. The breakfast was plenty. Daily for breakfast we get plate with egg, tomatoes, cucumbers, pastry, cake, homemade jam, olives, cheese and drinks (coffee, tea or orange juice). Baha was very honest about room size we and got exactly what we were told. We stayed five nights and location was perfect. This is a small hotel, excellently situated between Aya Sophia, Topkapi, and Galata Bridge. Near tramway-stop Sultanahmed, in a touristic district, with many restaurants etc., but nevertheless you can sleep quietly. Nicely decorated roooms (look on internet), rather small, but that's no problem. No TV but we knew that beforehand. Good airco, not noisy. Cosy restaurant, excellent breakfast.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Rooms are small, so best room would be 101.”
 of 5 bubbles 21091959, 14 Oct 2014 | Read review
“Definitely make sure you get a room looking out to the front, and avoid 214! The rooms certainly do not look (any more) like they do online ... and contrary to the hotel website, there was neither a 'pitcher of water' nor a mini-bar in the room (there was a small empty fridge, which is also fine, if that is in fact what is advertised as coming with the room.)”
  • Superfice has overtaken quality.
  • Lamps that don't light don't need a dimmer.
  • Clunky furniture ... robbing space and more in the way than useful.
  • Charming balcony with a view to ... ehmmm, nothing.

“We have the corner (smaller but) quieter room. We slept with white noise and almost heard nothing. Our friends who had the bigger room facing main street, was kept awaken by random dogs barking during the first night but other nights were ok.”
