Positives; - nice helpful, friendly staff - really close to the hagia, blue mosque, and bazaar, hippodrome, basilica, - really close to Cemberlitas station (but hotel is situated on a slope) - rooms were clean - WiFi connection was good - easy to get to the Ataturk airport if you are using public transport; take the Metro to Zeytinburnu then...

We arrived at this Hotel late evening and very tired. The receptionist and porter made us feel immediately welcome and relaxed. They served us a drink and then gave us suggestions as to what we could do during our stay. This hotel is in the heart of the old city. Our room had a beautiful view across the water and location...

On our arrival here in mid June we received a very warm welcome and lots of information given, The room was rather small and limited wardrobe space perhaps we had more than average as we were moving on for 10 more days. Good idea may be to ask for view if important to you as we had none overlooking street...

My husband and I stayed at Art City for a week during the last week of May this year. We got there via taxi as there's no way we would have found it ourselves as it is hidden in a little street in the Sultanahmed area. It's on a steel hill so not recommend for people with walking difficulties. Our...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
