Loved the Stablesgate apartment. The roof terrace was huge and it was wonderful to have direct access from the apartment. The breakfasts and dinners next door on the roof of the Armada Hotel were superb. The service very friendly and helpful. The location of the appartment was excellent, just round the corner from the Blue Mosque and many restaurants and... More

This is a great place for a group of friends to enjoy a private home with all the benefits of a good hotel. Serviced daily and access to the facilities of the nearby Armada Hotel with an excellent breakfast buffet. Great location.

We rented the Stablesgate house for our final three nights of a two week stay in Istanbul. It seemed extravagant for only two people to rent an entire house but the cost was comparable to a nicer hotel in Sultanahmet. I liked the fact that the house (and studios) were run by the nearby Armada Hotel. They offer cleaning services... More

We got a great kick out of staying in this old house in the middle of the residential area so close to the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia. The two of us had the whole house to ourselves and enjoyed the feeling of living Istanbul rather than just visiting. We made friends with the local cats and began to exchange... More

We stayed here in July. It is in a good location if you want to stay in Sultanahmet, no more than 10 minutes walk form Haghia Sofia or the Blue Mosque. We stayed in studio1 which had a bedroom/kitchen/diner with bathroom on the top floor (at ground level) and a further living room and bathroom in the basement, done in... More

We spent 8 wonderful nights here, and couldn't have been more pleased with this accommodation and especially its location. We stayed in the House, and for 2 people, not only was this the best bargain in all of Istanbul, but it was the most spacious as well! They charge by the person, (100 Euros at the time), so for 200... More

This review is part two of two… We stayed at the “Armada Annex”, otherwise known as “Stablesgate House & Studios”. This review is for the studio rooms that are separate from the hotel, but are serviced by them. For the review of the Armada and the included breakfast, look at the review on the Armada Trip Advisor page. The Armada... More

The Stablesgate House (part of the Armada Hotel Istanbul) is in an incredible location, just off the coast of the Marmara Sea, a short walk from the Sultanahmet (Blue) Mosque, the Aya Sofya and Topkapi Palace in the old part of Istanbul. We loved the location, the friendly and helpful service, the old-world feel, and especially being right in the... More

Stablesgate is advertised as an "annex" to the Armada Hotel. It was actually three short blocks of uneven cobblestones in a very residential area. The Studio had no view, except for someone's laundry strung outside their second floor residence. Our studio was on the second floor and unfortunately I fell down some stairs the first night we were there. Breakfasts... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“These studios are an "annex" to the hotel Armada. They are in a separate building, 3 blocks away, and down some "interesting" alleyways. If you are looking for a conventional room,... stay at the Armada. If you are looking for an interesting experience then we highly recommend the Studios at Stablesgate.”
