We stayed at this hotel for 5 days and for the price paid it was a very exceptional experience. Staff were the kindest we have come across and the service was much better than the so called 5* places we've stayed at around the world. Was 2mins walk away from the Blue Mosque which was a bonus. Room was originally... More

Located minutes from the hippodrome, this hotel had spacious rooms and was clean. Staff were friendly and obliging which was most important. Bathroom was small and needed few improvements and convenience store and cafe just nearby. Noisey in early morning as college nearby.

This place is perfectly located in Sultanahmet. It's a small guest house with clean rooms and very helpful staff. Ramazan was very helpful and arranged collection and drop off to the airport so I had nothing to worry about. Provides a decent breakfast, would definitely stay again.

The Sultan House was a great experience. It's proximity to Sultanahmet Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapi, and the Hagia Sofia was appreciated. It was also a short train or can ride from Taksim Square. The hotel is on a small side street away from the action which allows for some quiet down time. The staff is amazingly friendly. When my... The room was terrible and dirty and not at all like it looked on the pictures displayed on the website. The room smelled like a dirty public bathroom and everything including bedding and towels looked run down and dirty. I think the fantastic reviews given were employees and the only good thing about this hotel was the location but the... More

The hotel is in a fantastic location two minutes away from the hippodrome, museum of Turkish and Islamic art, the sultan Ahmet square and only five minutes to the blue mosque and Sultanahmet metro stop. The hotel was always clean, had a lift and provided a varied breakfast. The staff were always extremely helpful. Could ask for anything more.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
