I stayed in for 4 nights, location is very convinient for me. It's a walking distance to istiklal, galata tower, great bazaar, and the old town area. It's nearby a lot of cafes, restaurant, and hangout places. Staff is really nice and helpful. So, downside..well the faucet for the shower in my room looks like its about to fall off....

We were a group of 8 ladies and booked the whole hostel for four nights. It ended up being an excellent choice for us. Cheaper than having 4 normal hotel rooms but still much nicer since we were able to have breakfast together and enjoy aperitives together on the roof top terrace. It would be suitable for a private rent...

I traveled to Istanbul with a group of friends, and we booked via booking.com three rooms with private bathroom for a total of 8 people for 4 nights. At our arrive to the hostel the receptionist took our confirmation email print and started to speak confused words. After about one hour of discussing they didn't have our booking in their...

Was recommended this hidden gem by a friend, and am eternally grateful! Great location, right near istiklal and taksim square. Beyoglu is a great area to base your holiday out of, as it's away from the hoardes of tourists staying in Sultanahmet, but still in a very lively area. Staff are brilliant and really friendly. Free wifi and computers in...

We booked a double room here after visiting hostels.com. The pictures made it look really nice. But when we were shown to our room (up 6 flights of narrow stairs) we discovered it was an attic!!! The ceiling was so low that we couldn't even stand up and that's saying something as we are both very short people! (165-170cm) It...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
