We booked a double sea facing room online, not knowing what to expect, this being our first trip to Istanbul. It turned out to be the best decision we made. The hotel is located close to all the tourist attractions in this historical part of Istanbul, a short walk away from The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern,...

We stayed in a double room with sea view which was excellent. The location is convenient in terms of being a reasonable walking distance from sights like the Blue Mosque and grand bazaar, but is just outside the older & more quaint part of town. I was pleased we booked the sea view room – not that it had me...

We've stayed in the hotel for a couple of days. I have been in Istanbul at several similar price hotels and I can honestly say this was the best from all of them. Although it is not perfect, it can offer all you need for a city trip - central location, clean and comfortable rooms, although not so big, a...

In this hotel you realize quickly that everything is about money for them! When we arrived they told me that the room I booked was in the basement!! It was a room really small, without a window! Of course I asked for another room and they asked for 15 euros more for every day we spend there. It’s obvious that...

We stayed here August 2012 so when retuning to Istanbul there was only one place to stay. The reception staff remembered us and made us feel very welcome. The hotel is ideally placed for easy access to all the attractions round the Blue Mosque area yet far enough away to avoid almost all traffic noise. Staff are very friendly and...

We booked a seaview room months in advance along with an airport pickup. The van arrived one hour late -- not the best start. They said it was traffic, but all the Istanbul drivers know how bad traffc is, so they should know how much time to allocate. When we arrived, we got the same story as many other guests....

We booked this hotel way in advance for 8 of us, emailed them regularly and received communications from them to confirm our requests. We also booked 2 airport pick-ups as some of our party were arriving from different destinations. Both times, besides confirmation no car was sent to the airport, when we called them to find out the whereabouts of...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
