We have stayed for 3 nights and everything has been perfect. Thanks to the owner and to the people that work there. The breakfast if tasty and complete (fruit, vegetables, eggs, bread...) and the bed so confortable.

My entire family loved this place. The proprietors were extremely nice and very helpful in suggesting where to go and what to do. The rooms were comfortable and clean. And the breakfast was extraordinary. My personal favorite, the freshly squeezed pomagranit juice. But I had lots of favorites for breakfast!! So I was full and happy starting every day. Istanbul...

We stayed at the Kumru Hotel for 4 nights and to choose this hotel was a very good decision! The hotel has a perfect location for doing all the sightseeing (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi....) and the biggest plus is the really sweet staff and the owners Melissa and Abdu. You feel like at home. We liked the modern style...

Marvelous. We stayed three nights there with comfort. Have nice clean rooms with shower and amenities. Breakfast is very nice with different types of eggs, cheese, french fries, butter, jams, cereals, salads, wow strawberries, tea, coffee and fresh juices. Now about owners, both Melissa and Abdul are extremely nice and helpful. On our first day Mr. Abdul dropped us to...

My friends and I hit a Snafu on our trip to Instanbul and couldn't stay at the Kumru. When we walked in however, the place was beautiful, and just as the pictures showed. Despite the reservation issues, the staff made us feel right at home. They booked us into a really nice hotel, and offered us vehicle service to the...

From the beginning, the owner, Melissa, e-mailed many times to make sure we would be very comfortable; even though we would be staying only one night. She provided us with a larger room and let us have a late check - out, since our plane was leaving at night. She met us in the evening and talked with us at...

Each winter, I host a workshop at the Kumru Hotel and each year the service remains impeccable. The rooms are clean and the staff is sweet and the breakfast is divine. The hotel is run by a couple who really have their heart invested making each person's stay special and enjoyable. We fill up all nine rooms and the staff...

I recently stayed here during a photography workshop in Istanbul. The hotel is a quiet and comfortable alternative to the ones in busier sections of Sultanahmet. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were always super friendly and helpful.

Our family of four stayed at Kumru Hotel in Dec 2014 for 5 days. This is a lovely gem close to all the major sites in Sultanahmet. The owners Melissa and Abdul were of immense help to us. I had been in touch with Melissa before we arrived and she helped with planning our itinerary in Turkey. Abdul was our...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
