Stayed at the Elanaz Hotel for six nights recently. Except for a few very minor annoyances, ours was a terrific experience. The hotel is sited in a ideal location, on a side street nearby a main thoroughfare, and the tram line. Many must-see sights are within an easy walking distance, as is the waterfront, where ferries to all points throughout...

The location of this hotel is perfect. You can walk to Aya Sofia, Toscapi palace, blue mosque, bascilica cisterne in just 15 minutes. Also there are a lot of good eateries within 7 minutes walking distance. The hotel staff is really great. Upon arrival they advise about the sightseeings and the restaurants. The hotel is clean and just 1.5 year...

Great new boutique hotel/B&B in centre of old town, so walking distance to history. Spotless and super obliging staff. Double room small, but expected in Europe. 2.5 hour from airport though= interesting sightseeing through extended suburbs.

The Elanaz Hotel is a small hotel in the center of the Old City in Istanbul. The area is loaded with hotels, especially now that Istanbul has become a top contender for the 2020 Olympics. The location could not be better, located midway between the Bosphorus with its attractions and easy access to excellent running, and the Big attractions like...

Elanaz is a wonderful small boutique hotel in Istanbul. Centrally located, but not in a touristy area. The team is wonderful, helpful and warm. They provided tips on how to get around and what to see. Given my stay was short, their guidance was deeply appreciated and perfect! Room was small, but cozy and nicely decorated. Breakfast was lovely. Would...

Stayed for 4 nights. We got there early morning after long flight and they offered us an early check-in at 11am when we were so desperate to refresh. Nice and simple breakfast on a smaller place but nothing wrong with it. We Loved the tiny elevator specially. Clean and spacious room. Staff at Elanaz were awesome and they recommended the...

This small but very nice hotel will provide you with a great experience. From the moment I walked through the doors until the time I left, the hotel staff were excellent!! Room was very clean, and very quiet. It overlooked the Bhosphorous. If you are looking for a comfortable experience for your stay in Istanbul, then this Hotel will give...

The hotel is great. Staff are great, super-friendly, furnishings are top-notch, the place is clean, and the location is essentially perfect. If you stay here, you cannot go wrong. One thing to note (and this may not be specific to Elanaz) is that the 'balcony' is not really a balcony. It is a door that opens fully outside, but there...

From the moment I walked in and was greeted with a smile and the most helpful run through of the hotel, the city and its attractions I knew Elanaz was going to be a great place. I got there at 7am and my room was still in use so they looked after my bags and invited me to have breakfast....

The location makes this boutique hotel unbeatable as it is one minute from a tram stop, five minutes from the galata bridge, a 10 minute walk to the blue mosque etc, and not in the super-touristy Sultanahmet area (so only "touristy"). We had the cheapest room available in the basement which still has good daylight from windows. The beds were...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
