I stayed at Hotel DeCamondo during my recent business trip and I have to say that they were very professional. All of the staff wore masks, at the entrance there is a disinfection mat, disinfectant (they have them placed at several spots) and the bellboy takes everyone's temperature before entering the hotel. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly everyday, I have a rather sensitive skin and my skin didn't get irritated by the products they used which was a relief. As for the terrace both the food and the view were amazing and the tables were rather far apart, again all of the staff wore masks and they had QR codes on the tables that you can scan to go to their menu as to eliminate the physical contact which was impressive. I felt very safe staying there and I will definitely take my family here on my next trip.

Ook heeft het hotel verschillende maatregelen genomen tegen de verspreiding van het virus. Zo werd eerst mijn temperatuur gemeten voor ik het hotel in mocht en staan er op verschillende plekken desinfecteermiddelen in het hotel. Ook worden de slaapkamers elke dag grondig schoongemaakt. Het terras van het hotel heeft een geweldig uitzicht en ook kun je er onwijs genieten van het eten (het hotel heeft een uitgebreide menu met ook vegetarische opties). De tafels op het terras stonden ver uit elkaar en om te bestellen kon er gebruik gemaakt worden van een QR-code om zo het fysieke contact zo veel mogelijk te vermijden. Ik vond mijn verblijf in dit hotel erg fijn en het is ook zeker aan te raden!

We stayed in hotel DeCamondo for two nights at the end of our trip to Istanbul. We arrived much earlier than check-in and were greeted by a very friendly member of the front desk team. Our bags were taken care of and we were accompanied to the roof top bar and given complimentary drinks and snacks. The member of staff with us gave us a map of the city and suggested what we could do with our time left. He also provided us with a WiFi dongle for us to take around the city with us, rather than using roaming charges.
A little later we were taken to our lovely room. The decor in the room is beautiful and we had a small balcony. The bathroom was large and though the decor in the bathroom wasn’t as stylish, the shower was very powerful and it was all very clean. We also had a giant tv in the room with Netflix included.
The breakfast at the hotel was varied and served for a decent period of time; 7:30 - 11am. On our last day we were leaving too early for breakfast so the hotel made us a little packed lunch to take with us to the airport.
The location is good, very close to the Galata tower and walking distant to the old town and new town. It is also close to the tram if you don’t want to walk. The hotel were very kind and organised a taxi for us to the airport on our last day but you can also go down to the Main Street to hail a cab yourself.
The only improvement the hotel could make in my opinion would be to provide bottled water more regularly or have water coolers in the hallways. And for them to provide milk in the rooms and possibly a Nespresso machine or similar instead of instant coffee.

The De Camondo Hotel is an absolutely beautiful hotel with a stunning interior in a really convenient location just steps from the tram station. Breakfast was very good and the Restaurant on the terrace, as well as the Winery in the basement serve great food too. Prices were reasonable, quality and service very good. I would like to emphasise the absolutely outstanding service the hotel staff provides. All of them were super friendly and helpful at any stage of my trip. Upon my arrival I got a little introduction to the hotel, the city and potential activities, accompanied with a welcome drink on the terrace. They offer to connect with the reception on WhatsApp to assist with excursions or any other matters. Responses where always swift and especially as a female solo traveler it felt very comforting to have this “lifeline” at any time. Perfect hospitality! We loved our stay here!! Rooms: The rooms are large, beds and pillows are super comfortable and the shower has two shower heads with solid pressure. Rooftop: beautiful view from the roof top and also very hip. Food: definitely opt to get the breakfast when you book your stay. There is a huge variety available and everything was delicious and the service was lovely. Location: it borders karakoy and Galata so very convenient to get around to sultanhammet, the hip cafes in karakoy or the art/stores on the Galata hills. You do have to walk up a hill to get to the hotel though..but it's good exercise! Front desk team - this is what makes the experience incredible. The staff at the front desk went above and beyond to help us. They did everything from booking taxis, helping us with luggage, booking my hammam experience, advising us on how to maximize our experience of Istanbul to even offering tips on the rest of our trip to Turkey. They were incredible!!! Would highly recommend staying here because of them!

My partner and I traveled to Istanbul for a long weekend in September 2020, we choose to stay in DeCamondo hotel and the hotel with very helpful stuff made our trip very special! The hotel located in a heart of city center, all main attractions and best restaurants are in walking distance. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning from overall design till every single detail. Every detail will catch your attention: light in the rooms, exclusive robes, super comfortable bed or designer carpets. Saying about every single detail which was well thought out I must admit portable WIFI which are available for all guests. I have never seen that before. We took the device for 2 days and I had very good internet connection all the time! That is really helpful for travelers and really ingenious idea. The stuff of the hotel very helpful and friendly, honestly the best I ever met during my travels!

We enjoyed 2 nights here recently. We arrived late, mostly because the hotel is in a location that is very difficult for taxi drivers to find. It took us ages to find the hotel on foot in the dark despite meticulous planning using Google Maps street view. Once we got our bearings on foot during the day though, this is a great location for a base - about 5 mins to the Galata Tower and close for the Galata bridge for access to Sultanamet. Beware the steps down though if you have mobility problems.
Having planned to have dinner at the hotel and arriving frazzled, things got off to a bad start when we found the kitchen had just closed. We were given a comprehensive tour of the hotel and it’s background as a family home for Jewish family and the rooftop bar and given a few suggestions for the local area. We opted to go out and explore to find late night food and had a serendipitously and unexpectedly lovely evening. Galata and Istikal Street is full of life til about 2am - we enjoyed Turkish tea and baklava at Moda and went with the crowds up to Tamsin Square and wandered back with a delicious kebab for what I’m sure would have been a fraction of our missed hotel dinner.
We liked our room (37). It easily accommodated 2 adults and an 11 yr old and I enjoyed lying in bed looking at the brickwork on the ceiling. The room was quiet apart from a few chairs scrapping from upstairs. There was a sewerage smell in the bathroom but as we were barely in the room and could just shut the door, we didn’t bother mentioning it.
There were good views from the rooftop bar and we went up for a drink twice but we found it a little quiet and underwhelming and often had to hunt out staff to order a beer from.
The staff were friendly and organised a taxi for us to the airport (much appreciated after a loco Uber ride in and being dumped the first night). We saw them being similarly helpful, organising Covid tests, flight check in, etc for other guests.
Would we stay here again? I would and I would definitely stay in the area again. BUT it would very much depend on their price point which is creeping up since we first booked to stay here in 2020. I can’t help thinking there might be better bang for buck in the area.

DeCamondo Galata How lucky are we! We were so lucky to find this brand new hotel in Istanbul. We have been traveling around Europe for the past two months & this hotel is the finest we have found. The elegant DeCamondo collection is also an amazingly, excellent value. Service is white glove Tanner and Berker, are fabulous concierge who are so welcoming and super knowledgeable about Turkey & Istanbul. They arranged tours and taxis, and even gave recommendations when we flew out to Izmir to see the sights of Ephesus. The inclusive breakfast is excellent with Turkish specialties along with various egg dishes such as eggs Benedict available. Fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, delicious exotic fruits in honey as well as various cheeses and cold cuts; all fresh and top quality. The rooms are tastefully done, highest level of cleanliness and have all the extras you could want: comfy slippers, thick cotton robe, high quality soaps & lotions. Fully stocked mini bar with complimentary water; electric kettle & coffee pods. The view from the restaurant is exceptional the and the service was excellent & friendly all around. You’ll be very fortunate to stay here. 10/10

The DeCamondo Hotel is in an ideal location with an easy access to the Old City of Istanbul, within walking distance to Galata Port, Galata Tower. The hotel is quite modern with an interesting decor. The beds are very comfortable, the rooms are small but very clean and the turn down service ends the day with a Godiva chocolate:) Breakfast is very nice indeed with a list of Turkish specialties to choose from a great tea and coffee served by very attentive waiters.

Everything was just perfect!! The staff is incredibly nice and really going the extra mile to help, from helping us with the COVID restrictions, attractions, nice plans to do and even to order food given restaurants were closed for dining in due to COVID. We were able to contact them via WhatsApp any time and they were always responsive. The design of the hotel and rooms is just beautiful, especially the terrace with amazing views of the city. The location is just perfect as you can basically walk almost everywhere from there. This is the third hotel we stayed in Istanbul and we will definitely book again next time.
