Even though I had read good reviews on Trip Advisor about the Hotel Nena, I was skeptical. Within minutes after we arrived, that changed! What a perfectly delightful hotel. We were lucky to have gotten a room on the 4th floor facing the Blue Mosque, so along with our very comfortable accommodations, we had the most amazing view and a...

The Nena Hotel in Sultanahmet is a great place to stay. We were picked up at the airport by their courteous driver. As they had a few vacancies, we were upgraded to a sea facing room with balcony that had amazing views of the Blue Mosque, Sophia Hagia, the Bosphorus and Sea of Marmara. The hotel has a desk with...

We stayed at the Hotel Nena in May, with some friends. We booked in advance and got the discounts. The hotel is in a very good location for all the sights and there are number of restaurants nearby as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is clean and safe. The breakfast was good, but they kept running...

We stayed at Hotel Nena for a week. It is an excellent value: the rooms are not large but are simple, clean, and comfortable. It is an old style hotel where guests are intended to socialize in the common areas of the lobby and garden. There were no reading chairs in the rooms. The glass-covered garden is a much brighter...

Nena is a small hotel in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul, with an unbeatable location and excellent service. My wife and I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms on the top floor, with rooftop views over the city towards the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The English-speaking staff seem highly motivated and quite flexible with arrangements. The included breakfast...

From the very first moment, the airport transfer, the warm welcome, the polite staff, clean and comfortable room, and the food at the 4th floor restaurant, everything was excellent at the Nena. At walking distances to 80% of everything a tourist must see in Istanbul, and the best view in town, the Nena is certainly a top recommendation. Plan ahead...

The Nena lived up to its reputation as an accommodating friendly, modest hotel steps from most of the city's major historic landmarks, As promised, we were greeted at the airport by a driver, though the plane was early (thankyou Turkish Airlines.). And when we arrived mid morning at the hotel, the room was available within minutes: the deluxe, bright and...

In March 2008 we spent 3 days at this hotel followed by stays at more expensive hotels in Istanbul and around Turkey. In stark contrast to the more snooty hotels, we found the Nena staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful- which was a sheer delight. The location is brilliant for accessing the main attractions in Sultanhamet as well as...

I experienced my first visit to Istanbul and my first visit to Hotel Nena in October, 2007. I was so impressed with both, that I returned just four months later. Returning to Istanbul was wonderful. I was able to spend a full five days exploring the sights I could not visit during my brief visit in October. And returning to...

Brilliant stay at the hotel Nena even if the short break was nearly spoiled by Turkish Airlines being late by 2 hours and loosing my buggy and the raincoat going with it!! Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
