Sometimes you stay at a place because of its luxuries and amenities, other times it's for convenience and company. In the case of Mavi I would say it's the latter. If you need an affordable safe nights sleep in Istanbul, close to many sights with an amazing staff, this is the place to stay. The staff here, including the owner...

The guesthouse is located very close to Sultanahmed, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace (Touristic place). Staff were very friendly. For the cleanliness, which was not so adequate. Plus, they have terrace on the rooftop.

The owner Ali and the staff are very friendly. One could also book a place in shuttle for a nominal fee to airport. It is located just beside the Palace. The best thing about this hostel is it's location. The rooms are pretty cosy and I could see the palace through the window. It has got a good view from...

Mavi Guesthouse is very well located near Ayasofya and Blue mosque. View from rooftop terrace will leave you speachless. Breakfast included in price and free tea and coffee whole day. Plenty of dinning options very near. Guys working in hostel are always ready to help you with recommendations and basically everything you need. It looked like they had a wireless...

The guesthouse is located behind Sultanahmed, which is great. The staff was helpful and kind. They arranged a person to picked us up at the airport, and booked us a bus ticket to go back to the airport. The price was ok and included breakfast, unfortunately the place was not really clean.

I had a wonderful few days in Istanbul on my own, and stayed at Mavi Guesthouse. I was warmly welcomed by the owners/management and was given a great double room. The bed was very comfortable, room was clean, and I slept well. The bathrooms are small, but always clean, and there was always a shower free for me to use....

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
