Friendly staff. Chef is spitting image of Peter Lorre the late actor. Good price. Instant access to taxis for getting around but bus terminal is next to hotel. Regrettably hotel was nearly empty when we were there thanks to terrorists that that shut down all tours services in the city. But that makes this location more desirable. More room by...

Nice hotel in a nice area. Rooms a little bit worn (but really good for the price). Good breakfast (recommend the feta cheese) and an ok restaurant if you want to have lunch or dinner at the hotel. Good pool. The best with the hotel is still its location close to many good sites for bird watching and the excellent...

Excellent pool facilities.Decent breakfast.friendly staff. Good connection to the ferry in the harbour for easy access to the European side. Room decor can be improved, but very comfortable bed and a patio overlooking the Bosphorus. An absolutely wonderful little hotel. They deserve more stars! I booked for the pool and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome staff and service. A...

It is an average asian-side hotel and It deserves its three stars. My staying was of business purposes, so I can not say which kind of staying this hotel is suitable for.Maybe for someone who would like to get familiar with Kadikoy area...or just one-night hotel... Poor wi-fi connection, average breakfast, used up rooms...I'm sure you coluld afford much better hotels...

Hotel Harem in Istanbul is located just a few hundred meters from the harbour Harem at the Asian part of Istanbul in the district Üsküdar. The hotel has a perfect position close to and elevated above Bosporus. Sunset over European part of Istanbul is magnificient. The hotel is easy to access by Ido-ferries from Eminönü at the European part of...

Honestly, I've never been in a hotel like this in my life. The most confortable three-star hotel that welcomes you with kindness and comfort of a five star hotel. The cleanliness is excellent. There is a swimming pool for adults and one for children, there is a wellness center with a turkish bath included (we are in Turkey after all!),...

We have chosen this hotel based on other people's reviews on Trip Advisor and Booking.com and I cannot believe that this dirty and old garbage hotel had some really nice reviews, which made us pick it.... Even if it's a 3 stars hotel, it wasn't that cheap, it costs 66 E/night. The first night we were supposed to stay we...

Staying in Uskudar

Neighbourhood Profile
Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
