I just returned from my third trip to Istambul for the past three years and I already feel like going back! I fell in love with this city from my first visit which was roughly 20 years ago and wanted to return ever since. But in order to have an extraordinary vacation every time, you need to also have a...

Bosporous ferries from Eminonu terminal also a few mins walk away! Taksim Sq is on the other side, I took a taxi back one night for about 15TL! Hotel is clean, modern and beds...

It's a small, but very cosy hotel in the centre of Istanbul (next to Turkish bazar). The staff are amazing. They tried to do their best for us to feel like home (even better))) The beds are very convenient. The food for breakfast is tasty (and coffee is marvelous). There is a small swimming-pool with jacuzzi and sauna downstairs. There...

A brief stay here, chosen from Booking.com, in early August - turned out to be a very good choice. Fast efficient check-in with Mustafa at the front desk, comfortable room, good aircon, very clean, lots of toiletries provided, exactly as needed. There is a swimming pool (small, I think) and sauna etc but I did not use. The hotel was...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
