10 minutes so far sultan Ahmet. Staff is helpful and kindly. breakfast was delicious. room is small but clean. Terrace has view to amazing Istanbul's sunset. Unfortunately not exist tea making facilities (kettle) in the room.
This is about the eighth time that we have stayed at the Taskonak. We love the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff, the neighbourhood, the proximity to Sultanahmet and the views from the roof terrace.
I found this hotel after a near disastrous start to our family holiday. We booked a family suite which consisted of one room with double bed and one room with 3 single beds. The room were nice and clean but could do with a lick...More
The Tashkonak isn't really a 4 star hotel, but the people that run it are very nice and accommodating. There isn't much space in the room, but if you are friendly enough and not too wild you can ask to use the upstairs breakfast restaurant...More

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
