I loved the fin-de-siècle atmosphere of this hotel. It felt like I had just stepped off the Orient Express train. The plush red velvet curtains and talking parrot in a cage that would suddenly start up lent a superb ambience. I also preferred to walk the grand staircase all the way to the top of the building rather than using...

What an amazing experience! Although Agatha Christie mostly slept a few doors away at the Pera Palace, she also had a room here. So which one to visit? Well, we went to both hotels, and definitely, Londres was the more interesting one by far. With the quirky art, antique telephones, plush furniture, and more, it’s like having a drink in...

I loved my stay at the grand hotel londres. It's the most charming and beautiful hotel I ever stayed at. The staff is very nice and helpful. The terrace is amazing and offers a great view over Istanbul - and a great cay :) you cannot stay at a better and more conveniently located hotel. I'll definitely stay there again....

The location is great, near the Taksim square, and easily accessible. Walking distances to almost everything. The city is awesome, with tons of back alleys and narrow streets. The staff was helpful when it comes to arranging transportations and payments. Although there was a hug he mixup with our reservations, and we did not get the rooms we reserved. It...

It was the fourth time that we went to Istanbul, and as so many others, we really wanted to go to Buyuk Londra because of Fatih Akin's films (who, by the way should claim royalties...). We could only afford the most economic room (standard). It was August, we knew it was going to be hot, so when booking the room...

If you love old architecture, design and furnitures.. this is the place. I spent 4 nights in the hotel, there is a large range of rooms. Even if the rooms in the front are more noise because of the street, the view is great. the rooms will make you feel to be in the 19th century. If you can afford...

The hotel is beautiful and well located for exploring Istanbul. If you know of the Orient Express you will remember that the Grand Hotel is one of the hotels that one traditional ended one's trip at and what restoration has been done has kept in mind that the hotel's age and history is one of attractions. The staff were friendly...

One imagines oneself transported to a more genteel era in this place of beauty and civility. I prefer to go to the top floor by the stairs, skipping the languid elevator, in order to glance again at the pictures and objects bedecking the walls. The parrot and finches in the parlor add charm, though they surely wish to fly from...

2 lovely nights stay at this hotel, full of charm, character and friendly staff. Pity breakfast in basement would have liked the option to have it on the terrace as great views. And would also have liked more tourist information available in the hotel and information on the hotels past history etc. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
