Not the best location to get to centre of the city, but the staffs where very helpful. Breakfast continental was not very good either, pretty basic but was ok for the day to get you through the day. The rooms we stayed in was very small, not what was in the picture as it's quite misleading. The bathroom had a...

Staff is really friendly and helpful. The room we got (basement) was clean but it had a funny smell to naphthalene since it was not very well ventilated. It had a small kitchenette with supplies that made our stay really easier. These apartments are located in the Fatih area of Istambul, where you can find restaurants, stores and pretty much...

I stayed at Hotel Fatih for one night and had a pleasant experience, clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice location and the staff were very helpful! There had been an issue with the room that I had booked so they transferred me to another hotel that had a higher quality room for the same price! Very helpful and understanding! Strongly recommended...

The hotel we stayed in August 2013th year. the hotel has a private parking which is great in Istanbul. Rooms are small but neat, clean, with a view of the surrounding buildings and the street. Breakfast, we were thrilled, and the staff of the hotel, which is extraordinary.

Very cheap hotel. Staff was amazing with us. Breakfast is simple, but enough. However is not a hotel to staying many nights. Hotel stays more or less 15min of metro station that leads to Ataturk airport. Bad points: Really small rooms. Impossible to open a bag on it. Stairs on entrance also really hard to climb and bedroom door was...

Staying in Fener & Balat

Neighbourhood Profile
Fener & Balat
This sleepy and rather socially conservative area of Istanbul hosts a small but thriving Jewish community, the patriarchate of the Eastern Orthodox Church, and some of the most beautiful churches and Christian art in the world. Much of what’s most interesting to witness in Fener and Balat sits between the surviving ancient city walls of Constantinople and the serene shores of the Golden Horn. Despite the many splendid sights, historic attractions, stunning vistas, and warm Turkish welcome, the area remains largely unperturbed by the tourist trade that characterizes the atmosphere in nearby Sultanahmet and around the Grand Bazaar. Travelers that like to explore off the beaten track will reap big rewards for making the effort to visit this low-key part of town.
