It was a budget hotel. Located in an alley not so noisy. Close to Aya Sofia within 5 mins walk. Microwave and kettle were ready in the kitchen(top floor).Staircases were quite steep, by the way. Staff was nice but they didn't stay here but owned a small supermarket nearby. They can help to book private shuttle to Ataturk for 25euro,... More

Stayed in the Rain apart Hotel twice recently. We were delighted with this accomodation . The location is excellent -- in a quiet street off the main tourist area. It is close to many of the main attractions in Istanbul and a few minutes walk from a modern tram station. We had a very comfortable stay here -- good beds, good... More

Stayed here for a night and had a good experience. Since we were short on time, the location helped us to cover the major tourist attractions in Istanbul in 2 days. Omar, the owner is helpful and thanks to him for making our stay a comfortable one. One can reach the hotel by taking the red line Metro from Ataturk... More

The double room we booked was very large with an extra single. Plenty of room. There is a roof top terrace with a small kitchen with stove and microwave. The owner is great and very helpful with any bookings or advice. He even brought me a cake for my birthday which was very thoughtful. Great location, close to shops, Blue... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“This building consists of just one room per floor, a total of four rooms. I suspect that all rooms have the same layout. They are U-shaped rooms. A degree of privacy exists between the bed areas. Two beds or a double bed is at one leg of the U and a single bed is at the other leg of the U. There are 17 stair steps per floor, no lift. Request a lower floor if you are infirm.”
