This is a small but well located hotel close to the blue mosque and walking distance to the main attractions. More importantly it has an amazing rooftop open air restaurant for a buffet breakfast which overlooks the sea of Maramara and the ships lying at anchor ,waiting for their place in the queue to travel thought the Bosporus. services are...

Me and my fiancee went to Istanbul for 3 nights and I'm glad she chosed this hotel to stay at. The receptionist was very kind and he upgraded our room(jaccuzi, big room and a gorgeous view). Although situated few hundred meters from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, it was really a quiet area but with many little restaurants nearby....

This was my 2nd visit to the sumengen hotel and this time was just as good as the 1st. The staff at the hotel are incredibly helpful and its location is ideal for visiting istanbul. Breakfast choices are excellent and rooms are spotlessly clean. If you are thinking of visiting istanbul and are looking to stay in the sultanahmet area...

Excellent location and access to sites and shops. We stayed in a triple with a view to the Bosphorus. Room okay size but they have a hot tub in the room taking up space....very 1980's. Take out the tub and put in a sitting area and could be great! :) :) :) Clean. Safe area. Would stay again.

when I decided my trip in Istanbul, it was quite difficult to find a hotel which responds to our demand, my husband and I. We had planned twelve days in Istanbul, from the end of December until the beginning of January 2016. When we looked at Sümengen Hotel and its review, we were fascinated and of course, we opted for...

Spent 4 nights at the hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly, rooms are very spacious, and the location is unbeatable. There is a very complete breakfast with pastries, cheese, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, etc... My only complaint is that it is a little noisy. The noise is not from the street, but from the guests and...

We stayed at this hotel at the end of December in room 502. Had a great view of the charming street leading down to the front of the hotel. The room was large, plenty of room to spread out. Breakfast room was on the same floor, this made it easy to stroll over for the wonderful breakfast spread. We took...

We just spent a week at Sumengen Hotel at the end of December and have been extremely satisfied with our choice. It is in a perfect position, offers great value for money (we paid approx. 100€ per night for a family room) and is a very charming boutique hotel. I had read mixed reviews about it so I feared we...

This is an ideal place to stay in Istanbul. It is so well situated; it is within walking distance of so many sites in Istanbul: Blue Mosque, Haga Sophia, Underground Cisterns and Topkapi Palace. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
