Hotel is situated within a stones throw from the Blue Mosque, so that was handy for walking around Sultanahmet. The room was actually quite nicely decorated and clean. However, the service of the guys there wasn’t great , they didn’t really seem too bothered, they couldn’t even provide us with a simple map of the town. The bathroom was pretty...

I spent 4 nights with my boyfriend in Askin Hotel, the pictures looked nice so I thought it would be nice, and I'm Turkish so I wanted my boyfriend to see the best side of Turkey. However choosing Askin Hotel turned out to be the worst mistake. The room was very small, the room had a very small shower and...

the hotel was clean, the bedding and showers great. The management is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Expect to pay 5-10 euros more than agreed to on-line. For the money, though, it is an excellent location. Close by to everything but in a quiet side street with an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE coffee shop/wine bar across the street. The owner is an ex-pat Canadian, Jennifer,...

It's bed and breakfast, not a real hotel. Low standard. Don't expect much. 'Large rooms' are really small, bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen, facilities very basic. Shower didn't work properly, hair dryer either, closet very small, no room for stuff. They forgot to clean room on 1st day. Breakfast very modest but with a great view. Very good...

Surprised to see a few negative reports about the Askin as we had a nice stay. We paid a bit extra for a double room "with a view" and it was worth it for a view of both the Bosphorus and the Blue Mosque. The room was comfortable and clean, although hot water was not entirely reliable. Avoid paying extra...

I stayed at this hotel for five nights and everyday i had to ask reception to organise for the room to be cleaned and yet there was one day where i was told that cleaning lady has gone for the day. The attitude of the guy at reception was that it is not his problem.

This hotel is located in the best place you can imagine in Sultanahmet: few meters from Blue Mosque and Ayasophia. The view from the terrace, where a good breakfast is served, is breathtaking: you can see the Blue Mosque in all her splendor and all the Bosphorus. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have others upsides to offer. We paid 57 euro...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
