Good spacious clean room, good facilities, good variety for breakfast, great location. The staff were very helpful in organising tours, taxi's, giving directions and helpful tips. The Manager gave me confidence to explore the old city on my own and provided good transport tips.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sultanhan for a total of 6 nights and loved it. We felt very welcome from the beginning. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for us. It had a small French balcony. The room itself was very clean and so was the bathroom. I especially loved the different...

I was greeted by very friendly personnel and despite a small problem with my reservation was given a very nice room facing a quiet leafy street at the front of the hotel. The room fulfilled all my "requirements" quiet, clean, comfortable bed and great shower. The breakfast terrace had a great view over the city and the choices were excellent...

This is a small hotel, in the traditional style but with modern amenities. The hotel is situated in the historic Sultanamet part of Istanbul. The bedrooms are comfortable with good bathrooms. There is a breakfast buffet on the roof terrace and the staff go out of their way to be of assistance.

This hotel was perfectly positioned to get around the city, close to transport and the main tourist attractions. Huseyin & Ozgur were very helpful in guiding us when we had questions. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The rooftop kitchen provides a very pleasant experience during breakfast with a good quality and clean breakfast menu. Emel made me feel...

Stayed there in September and wish I were able to write ONLY great things about my stay at this lovely hotel that impressed me by the friendliest atmosphere, attention to details and its finest quality of service, but... First thing's first - the superb location of the hotel in the Chemberlitash area is second to none, offering culture, great food...

I stayed here for 2 nights in September, was blown away at what a great hotel it was! The staff are so helpful and are on hand to deal with any requests. Location is really central and while situated on a quiet street you are still able to hear the hustle of the city outside, which is great and generates...

This hotel had some pros and cons. It was in a good area to visit the Blue masque and Topkapi museum but I was told that people are treated better in different areas of Istanbul. I am not sure what areas in Istanbul that would be. I have read that the Turkish people are very welcoming but I really didnt...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
