We ( my wife and I) just came back from a 5 day trip to Istanbul. We have chosen the Romantic Hotel after an extensive search on the Internet, we were looking for a hotel that fits our budget without compromising on the quality and comfort of our stay. In the Romantic Hotel, we had it all and more !... More

If you want a reasonably priced hotel in a good location, with simple rooms this is the place. Breakfast could be improved. What we want when travelling is a clean place to sleep in, in a central location (location is key for us) and this was fine. The rooms are small (apart from the top room which is massive!) It... Recently my wife and I had the privilege of staying at the Hotel Romantic located on the Sultanhamet in Istanbul. With views of Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque in one direction and the Sea of Marmara in the other, we couldn't think of a better place to explore this vibrant city. We were made more than welcome by Yilmaz... More

Hi, just got back after a wonderful stay at the Romantic hotel. Istanbul is an incredibly interesting place with a pulse like few other cities. It can easily get a bit exhausting and it was really nice to be able to return to a quiet haven. The hotel was brilliantly located close to a lot of the main attractions and... More

A great location from which to explore the beautiful and friendly city of Istanbul. I stayed three nights returning from a trip into Ukraine. The room was small but nicely decorated and very clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The three nights came with a free half-day tour, which turned into almost the entire day with my own... More

The people who work and run this hotel are what made this stay a good one. They were warm, hospitable and very welcoming, despite a few problems cropping up. I had booked three months in advance and asked for a 'delux double room with view and baby cot' and had also paid in advance. I had a confirmation by email... More

Stayed three nights.First night given a small room off lobby, not allowing much privacy. The hotel changed it to a far better room for the other two nights. Hotel is in an excellent location for seeing the main sites of Sultanahmet and only about twenty minutes walk to trams. Rooms are clean and adequate. Considering the now high price of... More

Loveliest, coziest and cleanest hotel I have been to. The hotel is in a nice location, namely Sultanahmet, with all the important sights (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, German fountain, grand bazar,Topkapi museum, archeology museum,..) in walking distance. The tram is only 7 walking- minutes away from the hotel. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area so... More

Romantic Hotel is a delicious little hotel in one of the most beautiful places in Istanbul historical centre, it’s placed 200 metres far from Sultanahmet Mosque (according to me the most beautiful mosque in Istanbul) and 400 metres far from Aya Sofia. It’s placed in a little street without traffic, surrounded by other little and nice hotels, so there’s no... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
