We had a wonderful time. The hotels renovations of the room was very successful. Our room was spotlessly clean and well stocked. The food in the dining room was for the most part delicious and pleasing to the eye. Unfortunately the hot dishes often came to the table cold. I also think the hotel has to age their steaks as when they were served to us on two separate occasions they were too chewy to eat.
No distractions, enormous garden to walk through, mountain morning walks (guided by the hotel's fitness instructor), garden walkthrough with all flowers and trees explained by the hotel's gardener. Very nice evening shows and lectures. We will most surely come back!
The views in this hotel is breathtaking. The carmel suite has attached balcony’s which means it has very little privacy. I was able to hear the people next door to me talking. The meals are plentiful. They were very accommodating to me as a vegan they had a chef walk around every buffet meal to let me know what was vegan friendly. There are many activities and classes which are in hebrew
We have been going to the Carmel Spa every year now for over 20 years. We go for the serenity, the luxurious robes (no 5 start hotel comes close to the size of their towels), the spa, and the food. They used to have free tea in the lobby which was stupidly removed a few years ago since it is the cheapest food/drink to offer. They still offer free tea in the spa area during daytime hours. The review below is pointing out what they get wrong - since they get everything else right. The outdoor pool is wonderful, the spa is wonderful, the service and courteousness of all employees is to be commended. The problem exists in what I found to be a “Bermuda Triangle” in the dining room – and only one specific section. When we sat elsewhere, service was fast. The problem area is the area after you walk in, go straight through the buffet. That section till the glass wall to the outside seating area is a blind spot for service. The first night we were seated there and waited 15 minutes for a carafe of water. None came. We got up and asked a waiter for water. We then went back to sitting and waiting 35 minutes for a waiter to appear. Room was at 50% capacity. Food then arrived within 8 minutes. The next day we sat there for breakfast at 8:30. Room had 6 tables occupied and another 3 tables occupied outside. We wanted to order coffee and an omelet. Waited 15 minutes and then went to the coffee station and asked for coffee. We were told to ask our waiter. We said no waiter has appeared in our area of the dining room for 15 minutes. So a waiter came and took our order. After 30 minutes my wife wanted a second cup of coffee. Again we waited to see if anyone would come by (no one came to clear away the plates either) – no one did. So my wife got up and found a waiter and requested to order coffee. He said “I’ll handle it” and turned away. 20 minutes later still no coffee. So off we want to find another waiter. He came with his handheld pad and saw that we had previously ordered a first round of coffee but there was no record of a second round of coffee. So the first waiter we had found just lied to get us off his back. This waiter entered the request and 5 minutes later our coffee arrived. Incidentally, on the first day my steak was rubbery and inedible. Even the steak knife could not cut through it. Had to wait for the waitress to show up and then I ordered the beef fillet which was excellent.…
I had a wonderful time at the Carmel Forest Spa and I highly recommend it. For a relaxing, pampering vacation, this is deinitely the place to go in Israel. I went with a group of friends and every one of us was in heaven. Two pools, beautiful spa where I had a great massage, exercise classes, delicious food, and so much more......all set in the gorgeous surroundings of the Carmel mountains.
