#18 of 120 hotels in Jerusalem
2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
The Villa Brown Jerusalem, the newest addition to the Brown Hotels group, is a 24-room boutique hotel that redefines contemporary hospitality in the holy city. Just a five minute walk to Jerusalem's old city sites and situated in the heart of the bustling city center. Known as the 'Grande Dame' of the Brown Hotels collection, the Villa Brown Jerusalem is housed within a one-time private villa from the 19th-century. The hotel's distinct aesthetic is a multilayered interpretation of East-Meets-West, merging Neoclassical British Mandate, Ottoman and Eclectic-design-styles with contemporary interior influences, exemplified through velvety pigments of red, emerald and mauve that adorn the public and private spaces throughout the property.

The website describes a completely different hotel to the one that actually exists. I wanted to hold an event there, after calling for days without anyone to actually answer the phone, they told me that the description of the facilities are not remotely connected to reality. Very poor form.

Interesting and comfortable property but the staff are completely disinterested. I left behind some clothing that after many phone calls and messages they promised to bring to Tel Aviv for me. When I tried to pick up my belongings, they ghosted me. Awful!!!

The pictures on the web have nothing to do with the reality of the place...they need to immediately promote whomever does their web page. A genius! The place is TINY. Ever been in an expensive boutique-hotel where there is no closet? Neither have we. So, you hang your clothes on an open rack next to the coffee machine. So what? Yes the room is visually pleasing because of the Jerusalem architecture thanks to history. Water seeps onto the floor when you shower unless you throw a few towels down like we did in Mumbai. Forget spa and all that nonsense. Does not exist. A standard tiny jacuzzi that is not operative and a tiny 2-bed space for massage. The Bar downstairs seats 18 barely and from the top of the stairs you can see that around 4pm it still has not been cleaned. The room was an hour late in preparation although we did a web check in. There's no parking so you shlep 300 meters with your bags and pay an extra 120 for the weekend spot. Don't take a ground floor room cuz every time the neighbours open/close their door - yours rattles. Noise from the "front desk" during business hours and constant annoying music from the patio which you are adjacent to as well. 2 more and I'm done: the windows are not double pane so all the glory of the road is in the roow with you and the kicker - because of the religios restrictions - the Nespresso machine is missing in action until Sabbath is out. Yes the location is convenient but, there are a dime a dozen waaaaayyy better places for this exaggerated price. Enjoy!

A charming hotel with a professional and very courteous staff. A small hotel in a beautiful historic building, in the city center, walking distance from various attractions: 10 minutes to the Mahane Yehuda market and the Midrahov, 20 minutes from the Old City. A-La-carte varied breakfasts. !
