Location is great, and there is a convenient parking lot right next to the hostel. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful, less so at the bar. The overall atmosphere was great, the rooms comfortable but a little bit run down. For the price I paid, I expected more from a private room. I will be back, but will probably...

Most backpackers have encountered difficult roommates in dorm accommodations. Snoring, excessive noise, and inconsiderate behavior are often par for the course. The staff at Abraham Hostel addressed one such recent situation for us quickly and tactfully. They run a tight ship under difficult circumstances. Special shout out to Ziv who helped with travel arrangements.

My son and I recently stayed at Abraham's Hostel in Jerusalem. Since it was our first time staying in a hostel, we were somewhat uncertain about staying in a room with others, so we had a private room with our own bathroom. The sparsely furnished room was fine for us. We had twin beds, a small desk and chair and...

Abraham hostel is well located within walking distance of the old town. The rooms are ok and clean. The positive atmosphere is supported by a friendly staff. The breakfast is mediocre but all in all a hostel, that is recommendable.

The hostel is lovely and welcoming - not particularly quaint, but in a superb location on all the main bus/tram routes and just down Jaffa road from the Mahane Yehuda market with its wonderful atmosphere and produce. I was on my own, and spent a very enjoyable evening in the bar meeting some tourists and telling them about my life...

I stayed 8 nights in a private room in the Abraham Hostel in Jerusalem. The room is pretty basic but more than enough for me. And it's still a hostel! The rooftop terrace has a great view and is awesome to chill, the bar has food and drinks for a decent price. So you don't have to leave the hostel...

This hostel was really great - we don't normally stay in hostels but Isreal is a pricey place to travel and we took a tour with them so decided to stay there as well. It's in a good location and has good facilities and a great breakfast (doing our own washing up was a novelty!). There are lots of things...

My husband & I stayed here for a few nights in one of the more "upgraded" rooms - i.e. private room & bathroom + TV. As you can imagine, expect nothing fancy at this hostel, even with one of the private rooms. However, it really does have what you need. The rate was still well over $100/USD per night but...

I stayed in a private room in Abraham Hostel Jerusalem with my mother when we were on a Holy Land Tour last month, and I can say we really enjoyed our stay there. First off, the staff were so helpful and accommodating. The check-in was very smooth and everything I needed to know was given to me. They also assisted...

Perfect location, amazing staff, very nice rooms and showers. We stayed in the 10-bed dormitory, and any complain... everything clean, and the bathroom and the shower faultless. I love the decoration and the ambient of the hostel. I strongly recommend this hostel for everyone, and I will definitely repeat!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
