I spent a week here in June and would definitely stay here again. It was pretty clean and I felt very safe. I had a private room and it was definitely worth it to have my own bathroom and fridge. They serve a lovely little breakfast buffet each morning for free, and host a Shabbat dinner each Friday that you...

This was easily the best hostel I have ever stayed at. It had a rooftop lounge with plenty of seats and tables to meet new people or hang with people you know, or enjoy the jerusalem stars. In addition it offers a lounge on the second floor with a bar (with a free drink for those who reserve rooms online)...

I have visited Jerusalem twice so far in 2015 and when I visit again I will, without hesitation, stay at Abraham Hostel again. I stayed in a mixed dorm both times. It's your typical hostel; nothing particularly special, but good value. It was pretty clean and they have a good tour company (you get a discount on tour if you...

I did not actually stay at the Abraham Hostel but wandered in because I heard they had bikes for rent. I had looked all over Jerusalem and found only expensive options all over 100 shekels a day even up to 250 shekels. Here I found good quality bikes for only 80 shekels with bike lock and helmet. I also happily...

Abraham Hostel made our visit in Jerusalem complete - every day we had a chance to discuss our experiences with other travelers, which was very enriching, and also find partners for renting a car. Abraham is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in - atmosphere is very friendly and stuff is very willing to help with anything....

Four of us spent 5 nights in the Hostel. It has a funky, commune vibe, but is friendly and has everything you need. We arrived early in the morning, about 3:30 am, and someone was at the desk to check us in and get us settled. We had a family room that can sleep five, including a bunk bed. The...

I would highly recommend this place, not just to backpackers but to anyone travelling on whatever budget. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful, the trips are fantastic, and there are events every night. I went alone and left ten days later having met about 30 new friends.

I stayed at Abraham Hostel for the first time for one night recently and it was truly the most unique and lovely experience I've ever had at a hostel. What makes this place so different? The first thing is that it offers far more than other hostels for roughly the same price. At most places around the world I usually...

Dorm was quite nice although no place to hang clothes. Hot water for shower was on a timer that you set prior for 20 minutes to get it hot. Bedding provided as were towels. Take along hand towel and washcloth if you need as not provided. Nice lounge area as well as rooftop area. Tours and activities can be booked...

I've stayed in the 3 of more 'popular' hostels in Jerusalem, the Citadel, the Jerusalem hostel, and the Abraham hostel. The Abraham hostel is easily the best of the 3. Each of the beds in the 'dorm rooms' have secure lockable cabinet. It has a very large and spacious lounge/kitchen area. The employees are easily the friendless and most helpful....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abraham is known as the father of monotheism and was the first backpacker in the Middle East. He journeyed throughout the lands accepting hospitality from those whose homes he came to, and extending hospitality to anyone who passed near his tent. We wish to extend Abraham's Biblical hospitality to our time. We, the staff & owners of Abraham Hostels, created our dream hostel in Jerusalem to support travelers in the Middle East. The Abraham Hostel is located in Jerusalem's city center catering for independent travelers and small groups. Our location allows for easy walking access to all major sites such as the Old City or Mahane Yehuda Market. There are plenty of public transportation options right outside to various Jerusalem sites, as well as to the international airport and other cities in Israel and the West Bank. The hostel offers daily activities and tours in our ongoing effort to encourage travelers to make new friends and new experiences. Whether it's our hostel bar, traveler's information center or chill-out rooftop, we try to provide everything an independent traveler needs when travelling in the area. For those traveling outside Jerusalem there is a special discount when staying in Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and the Fauzi Azar Inn in Nazreth, as well as special shuttle service between all three branches. ... more   less
