I was a bit confused with the other reviews done this month. There are several Dan hotels but the Dan Boutique hotel in Jerusalem is only a hotel for those with Covid. I know because I tested positive at the end of my tour and was taken here by ambulance. No furniture in lobby and plastic guard up at reception desk. Rooms are dark and dingy. On the plus side, the beds and shower were good. Three meals a day were dropped off at our door. Lunch was a hot meal and usually good. The view was beautiful. Just wish I could've had a balcony. Staying indoors for 7 days straight is no joke. But we complied as to not get fined.
We stayed at this hotel with a large group visiting the holy land. It is well located and the rooms are very nicely appointed. There is a very nice bar next to the restaurant. Our stay included a buffet breakfast and dinner. Food was OK, but was missing fruit for breakfast.
To begin this is not a terrible hotel and it does have redeeming qualities. That said, there are better options within the same price range in the area. The good: The hotel is reasonably close to the old city. If you are glancing at a map it will look somewhat closer than it is simply because you have to go down a long road and then more or less double back on yourself. Check in was relatively quick. The room was very large by Israeli hotel standards with a very large bathroom. Staff seemed nice and helpful, and perhaps most important everything was pretty clean. The best thing about the place - it had the best Friday night shabbat meal I have had in Israel - by no means the fanciest but fresh with a very good vibe. The not so good : they have extremely limited parking. When I got there on Friday afternoon they had no on-site parking. I was directed to park on the curb on the street outside which was to fair Free until 8 AM Sunday morning - but, nevertheless this was an inconvenience. Next, the room is relatively dated. Old tired carpet and a pretty dated bathroom with a 20 or so inch TV that barely worked and 80s carpet and paint scheme. The room also came with a horrible whistling noise when the window was closed - kept me up a good bit of the time and we just ended up leaving the window cracked a good chunk of the time. Breakfast was lackluster AT BEST which is a real let down since if you know anything about Israel you know that even the poor hotels do Breakfast well. And last but not least the beds and bedding were not very good - by no means the absolute worst I have had in Israel but definitely sub-par. Overall I would not stay here again unless I really did not have much choice though the experience was not terrible just left a lot to be desired. …
Incredible, delicious food and very fun staff. Staff have been helpful and kind the whole time. The hotel has a great location. And the rooms have a great and functional layout and are very comfortable.
It’s a wonderful place place to stay, you are very close to the Old City and there is so much to see! You’re missing out of you don’t come stay…. The staff is incredible and always available to help! Please consider this beautiful place!
