The hotel is located in a convenient location close to the light rail and within 15 minutes of the Damascus Gate on foot. We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and on one occasion I came back to find my door was not shut properly, I always double check that my door is locked, so can only assume the housekeeping staff didn't pull the door shut firmly enough. The hotel rooms are very dated and in desperate need to renovating as can be seem in the photos I've attached. We ate at the hotel for breakfast and dinner for the six nights we stayed at the hotel and the buffet spread was pretty good, although I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't any gluten free bread options available at breakfast. I don't know what the room rate is normally as this was booked through a tour company, but I'd be happy to stay here again despite the very poor room state if the room rate is not obscenely expensive.…

This hotel is in dire need of a renovation. Lobby is okay, but desk staff is rude and disrespectful. Rooms are well past their prime. Small hard beds, tiny bathrooms that need updating and a good scrubbing. Carpets are dirty, dim lighting in all areas. Bath fixtures are chipped, worn, outdated & dangerous. We stayed as part of a USA group tour and we’re unimpressed by this hotel. Food was not very good, coffee machines didn’t work, just overall average at best. Our room air was frozen up & non functioning, after rude desk folks argued with us about it, my hubby had to get stern with them and it did get fixed, sort of. I would not recommend this hotel and I’m sure I’ll get the standard management reply! 🙄

A very nice hotel. We came here after our tour of the wailing wall, church of the sepulture and other highlights. Outstanding buffet lunch. There is so much good choice. Really good dishes, really good sweets. Like top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed it here

We spent the final three nights of our tour here. Positives include the location and the morning and evening buffets. The rest of hotel was marginally average at best. Our room's air conditioning was not working (other people on the tour had air conditioning). The temperatures were not extreme; however, the street noise and flood-lit pool work made a night's rest challenging. Fitting with Jerusalem, our bed linens were holy--in this case, actual holes in the material and threadbare. Hopefully your tour company will do better.

This hotel is located is within walking distance of the old city and a variety of shopping areas. But it is a very average hotel. Front desk staff were very rude. I saw the difference when I asked a question in English and when a Jewish gentleman asked for help. Very rude. Happened twice. The room was OK. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Coffee machine was not working on the two days we had breakfast. The morning we were leaving I counted about 14 tour buses in front of hotel!!!!!!!

Don’t let the pretty lobby fool you. The rooms are abysmal. Poor lighting. No air conditioning at this time of year. Front desk said, “ Open your window “. Beds are a step up from being at a summer camp. Filthy carpet & where tub meets floor behind bathroom door caked with dirt. Bottom of bathroom door peeling away. I resented our tour company putting us up for 3 nights in such nasty conditions. Find another hotel. I do not know how Olive Tree has any decent reviews.

We came with some friends and anticipated a very different experience given the 4/5 star reviews. I would give this hotel two stars at best. The lobby is very nice. The rooms are not. The beds are hard. The pillows, you only get one of them, are flat. The carpets aren’t clean. The bathroom floors are dirty. Two stars, maybe.

Air conditioning system is offered but not real. On March 22, 2023 (room 815) the heating system is the only one working. When we called front desk, the told us that in all Israel there is not air conditioning system which is not true since we’be ben in Tiberias before and we got air conditioner. For tonigh thw offer a fan and that we shoul open the windows!!

Our air conditioning system offers both cold and warm air, but is set to be a general AC system in all the rooms, and it is changed from hot to cold when entering warmer weather. Since the weather is still rather cold and rainy this time of year it's still supply warm air, that's why we offer in the meanwhile fans to guests who feel a bit hot despite of the cold weather. All staff were extremely friendly. Food was fabulous! Very clean and well managed. Beautiful building and decor. Comfortable beds and temperature within the room. We went with Shalom Ministries and EO Tours.
