This hotel has both comfortable hotel rooms and hostel rooms. It is owned by an organisation which brings groups to Israel and the rooms which are surplus to requirements are sold as normal hotel rooms. The prices were not particularly cheap and we paid $197 for a double room with breakfast. Nevertheless the atmosphere is somewhat institutional and one felt...

I guess this is not an actual review of the Beit Shmuel Guest House as were extremely fortunate to get upgraded to a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment at the nearby King David Court. The position in any case is simply marvellous, being close to the old city, Mamilla Mall and the magnificent King David Hotel. Why then only...

The room was great, with good style and a good view of the surrounding area from the 2nd floor. Everyone at the desk was very helpful and flexible. Good walking access to the old city, only a few blocks away. Also good access to Jerusalem restaurants, etc. Breakfast is included, and actually worked for me which is often not the...

This place had the nicest rooms of anywhere we stayed in Israel, easily the greatest bargain. The staff was very nice. The place was a little sterile. To be perfectly honest, it was a little creepy. The Center for Progressive Judaism is located here and there were dedication plaques next to the rooms. If you're an observant Jew & don't...

The hotel/guest house is very well situated if you intend to visit the old city of Jerusalem. A few minutes walking distance from the Jaffa gate. The rooms are simple and clean. The breakfast "buffet" should be avoided.

I have no words to express how pleased I was with my stay at the guest house. The entire staff was extremely helpful, friendly and made me feel like I was family. The rooms are clean and you are within walking distance to the old city and mamilla mall. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and plan to return...

We stayed on the 3rd floor from the 23-24 of august because of the close distance to the chozot ha jozer festival. The room smelled very bad of smelly socks. There was very loud music being heard in our room from a bar mitzvah from the hall on the roof untill 1:30 am. (We heard that there similar parties all...

We stayed 5 nights. Got decent breakfast included. 12 minute walk to the Western Wall. Close to shopping, restaurants and old city of Jerusalem. 5 min walk to LRT. Good sized rooms, friendly and helpful staff who speak English. Cafe on site. Reasonably priced compared to nearby hotels at twice the price.

We stayed there on April 2016 with our 3 young kids. We booked a family room for 5. What we got was a dorms style room with double bunks - hardly a "family". In addition, the bunks had no safety boards meaning our kids (3, 4 and 7) couldn't sleep on the top bunks. If you're travelling with kids, avoid...

It's half hostel, half hotel and the hotel part is great. Aside from an electrical outlet that needs to be fixed I couldn't find anything wrong. It's close to everything. The price is hundreds less than the hotel down the block, the breakfast is basic, but still good, they're super friendly and they have great wifi (unlike the other hotels...
