I loved my room. Staying in an old, beautiful, stone lined hotel was a glimpse into old Palestine. The food at the restaurant was delicious with excellent service. The owners helped me with my traveling agenda instructing me on public transportation and helping me with taxis. I will definitely return for my next stay! Try to stay on the first floor as the walk up the stairs isn’t easy with luggage
I am so glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Jerusalem! The only thing I’m sorry is we only stayed there for one night! This is a small family run hotel, and let me tell you - they really do make you feel like a part of their family. Not in a phony way of a large hotel chain, but in a real human way. The owner and everyone who works there create a real connection. Upon arrival, we were offered to relax and have complimentary drinks in the restaurant. This is before we checked in, or performed any other formalities. The owner personally took me to the parking lot, and even asked if I wanted him to drive his car there, so that we don’t have to walk back (it’s really just a 2 minute walk). Later we asked what time is the breakfast. The response was that we will be fed no matter what time we would come, even after the official breakfast is over. The place is uniquely decorated, and you can feel how much love went into every detail. And the location is superb - just a 10 minute walk from the walls of the old city. I would not stay in any other hotel in Jerusalem, and I’m looking forward to the next time in Jerusalem Hotel!…
After a magical family stay in the spring, we looked forward to returning to the Jerusalem Hotel for a night this fall, and it was just as marvelous as before. The staff are so hospitable and warm. They did everything to make us feel like we were at home with friends. We had a different room that was as lovely as the last one. The whole hotel is like a museum - everywhere your eye turns is some historic beautiful object. We walked just a few steps into the old city through the Damascus Gate, and after the day we enjoyed a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant with the guidance of our server. I can’t wait to visit again!
We stayed 4 nights in this wonderful oasis from the busy city of Jerusalem. The rooms have so much ambiance and character. The hotel is quaint. Breakfast is delicious and the dinner menu is fantastic. We loved our stay at this hotel and it will be where we spend our next visit to Jerusalem and Israel.
Feel so lucky to have found this wonderful hotel. Amazing stay from start to finish. From the lovely family (and friends!) who run the place to the gorgeous setting. We loved the decor and our room felt very special. Breakfast was fantastic (we liked it so much we came for dinner also!) Oh and the location could not have been more convenient. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
After going to Jerusalem for the first time in 2019 and picking Jerusalem Hotel, the staff was so wonderful and welcoming, I came back this past May 2022 and brought a small group from my church. Everyone was extremely satisfied with the accommodations, food, and hospitality. It is like staying in Aladdin’s Lamp only modernized! It is only a 7 minute walk from the Damascus Gate, so it’s very conveniently located. Their generosity and care for us made everybody feel at home. We consider Jerusalem Hotel our “home away from home” there. In fact, now that the our group is back, there is already interest in coming back again, and, of course, we would stay at the Jerusalem Hotel!
This hotel is a couple of minutes walk to Damascus Gate. Jerusalem Old City is a must see if you are in the country. My wife and I stayed for one night. The hotel staff are amazing and the owner gave us a little tour of the antiques that he had collected or were in his family. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good. There is a small buffet breakfast served there with fruit, eggs, dips, delicious bread. A satisfying meal to get you started before you go explore. We would definitely stay again.
One of the few hotels we were able to find in the east side of Jerusalem when booking our trip. The building itself is absolutely stunning and clearly has a significant history. All of the communal areas are furnished with lovely Arabic pieces that add to the boutique feeling. When we arrived, the friendly manager met us and gave us a potted history of the location before letting us pick a room as we only stayed for one night. The room was nice and spacious with pretty details although it lacked some of the polish that would make this a 5 star stay. Breakfast was a simple, Palestinian affair with hummus and breads. Very tasty and deceptively filling. The manager/owner was around again and had a chat with us before we departed on our tour. We would definitely recommend this place if you want to get away from some of the more sterile options available in the west of the city.…
I have stayed several times at the Jerusalem Hotel, and the mainstay of the whole experience has been the Palestinian family run element of the hotel , who always go out of their way to assist you. However since my last stay pre-pandemic, they have gone further and completely overhauled all the bedrooms, en suite facilities, and renovated the dining area , all in excellent taste and style - but still keeping the family owned atmosphere. They have also upgraded their restaurant meal options in terms of quality and presentation. It was a real pleasure to be back again , and would highly recommend for those who want to feel that local atmosphere. Thank you to all at The Jerusalem Hotel. Gerard ( Heelan )
A last second change in my well planned visit to Jerusalem brought me to this exquisite little hotel easily missed from the street. Located a block away from the Damascus Gate, the Jerusalem Hotel has a long history as it was a Police station a while back and even further back , a Byzantine Church! The interior whispers loudly these confirmations with high ceilings, stone walls and arched doorways. The hospitality given by the proprietors of the hotel make you feel like your a distant family member more than a guest. The restaurant has a slight more modern ambiance with an amazing menu with an Arab influence. Rooms are incredibly affordable for what you receive in setting and character.
