I really wanted to like this place after reading all the great reviews here but came away with slightly mixed feelings. On the plus side, it is a beautiful old building, and the location is fabulous, just a few minutes walk from the Damascus Gate (the entry into the most interesting part of the old city) and the nearby light rail stop. My room felt a bit tired and in need of an upgrade though - a decent coffee machine and real cups rather than disposable ones would be a good start. Staff were pleasant enough but didn't go out of their way to be helpful. There's a nice airy restaurant on the ground floor, but in a country with such fabulous food pretty much everywhere you go, I thought the breakfast left a lot to be desired, and for that reason I didn't attempt any other meals here. I was travelling alone and for a place to lay my head at night, it was perfectly fine and a reasonable price, but it wasn't a place that I wanted to linger in. If I were back in Jerusalem with my family I'd forego the atmosphere and look for something a bit more modern.

Hotel's Favourite
I am so glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Jerusalem! The only thing I’m sorry is we only stayed there for one night! This is a small family run hotel, and let me tell you - they really do make you feel like a part of their family. Not in a phony way of a large hotel chain, but in a real human way. The owner and everyone who works there create a real connection. Upon arrival, we were offered to relax and have complimentary drinks in the restaurant. This is before we checked in, or performed any other formalities. The owner personally took me to the parking lot, and even asked if I wanted him to drive his car there, so that we don’t have to walk back (it’s really just a 2 minute walk). Later we asked what time is the breakfast. The response was that we will be fed no matter what time we would come, even after the official breakfast is over. The place is uniquely decorated, and you can feel how much love went into every detail. And the location is superb - just a 10 minute walk from the walls of the old city. I would not stay in any other hotel in Jerusalem, and I’m looking forward to the next time in Jerusalem Hotel!

Excellent. Room was cool with the air con, food was exceptional, and the cleaning lady, Juliette, was superb. All made me feel very welcome and treated you like family. Would recommend to anyone wanting a hotel near to old city. Keep up the good work!

This cute little hotel is only a block from the Garden Tomb and a couple of blocks from the walled Old City. The place is family-owned-- I stayed with a friend prior to our tour of the holy land-she stays here often and recommended it highly. It was so quaint and the rooms were very nice. The bed was super comfy. Even on the street, my room was quiet. Their morning breakfast was delish as were the dinners we ate there. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Jerusalem.

Lovely family run boutique hotel! Fantastic breakfast included and a charming patio restaurant. Close to the Old City, local transport, shopping and good restaurants. Quiet, old style Palestinian villa! They took great care of us. Highly recommend this special place. Can’t wait to return!!

Dirty and run down. The place needs a deep clean. Expected a better and more comfortable experience for a $130/night stay. The female staff was rude and unwelcoming. Room was unclean and still had litter from previous guests, which was still there after I left 3 days later. Towels are not changed and not toiletries were provided on 2nd and 3rd days. Very conveniently located to Damascus Gate, the souk, Al Aqsa Mosque, American Colony Hotel, the bus station to Bethlehem, etc.

You will be treated by family in this small hotel. The rooms are comfortable. The food at the restaurant is lovely. This is a safe location for women travellers. An easy walk to the old city and close to buses and trams. Easy to access via sheet from the international airport. Cost me 66 nis.

Small scale hotel with friendly, smiling and dedicated staff. Beautiful rooms, some with a balcony. Air condition, barhrooms, showers and beds in Ottoman style rooms. All facilities hets a rop rate, but the staff constitutes the best experience. Allways at service, down to Earth attitude makes you feel welcome.

We loved our stay at the Jerusalem Hotel. It is the perfect location for walking to the Old City and nearby restaurants. The area is very safe. The owners and employees are friendly, warm and accommodating. The property in itself is so cool and charming - you feel like you're in an old castle or church, but the rooms have been renovated with all of the modern conveniences. Bath products from the Dead Sea that smell amazing! We had 1 breakfast (included and amazing with so many selections) and 1 dinner that was also very good. Definitely stay here if you can find availability!

Incredible hotel, perfectly located near Damascus Gate. I was overwhelmed by the hotel's absolute beauty -- like staying in a fantasy from 150 years ago. The staff was incredibly kind (especially Pauline, the owner, I believe), the breakfast spread was superb (some of the most delicious food I had in Israel -- didn't have a chance to eat in the restaurant but it looked tremendous), it was quiet, close to West Jerusalem if walking (maybe 10 minutes) and the Old City (5 minutes), as well as to get to Mount of Olives area, and a great price. I will definitely stay here again and have recommended to friends. It also has tons and tons of markets and shops nearby with some animated nightlife. Mainly, I remember the beauty of the architecture and furnishings and kindness of the staff. And that breakfast!
